Dance Dance Revolution

A friend of mine is getting fairly good at it, but he's at a stalemate right now because of lack of good pads. His good pad is having many troubles with the up arrow (stand in the center and it goes off automattically). His down arrow isn't working well either, have to practically slam the spot to get it to register.

The other pad belongs to another firend but it, well, just sucks. It slides around under my feet alot, and then screws me up because I'm not hitting the arrow.

There's a DDR machine at one of the malls nearby, but I haven't had the guts to go play it (I'll be lucky if I can get a B on trick mode).
 
You are familiar Nova, were you on the Ezboard boards too?

Anyway, tell your friend not to fold up his pads. That's what that problem is. It shifts the foam around inside when you fold it up, and causes the sensors to not recognize what is what correctly.

My suggestion: Get a RedOctane soft pad ($70) or go for a metal one so you can use your shoes (About $150)

Trust me, I'm Game Addict's DDR expert. :p

I'm considering getting my PS2 chipped and importing the NA version of DDR so i'll have the same tracks as you guys...it's confusing cos I don't know what you're all talking about  :p
 
I'm a bit irked at the moment because my favorite DDR song, "Moonlight Shadow" is on the freaking XBOX version of DDR. All of my dancepads are for the PS2! Noooooooooooo.

At some point I'll probably just have to break down and get the bundle that comes with the game and the dance pad.
