The thirst meter is much like the stamina bar in MGS3. Just a little more rapid.x2 said:Love the game. My only few gripes are that if a weapon breaks, it's gone for good. So save often and watch your weapon status. The other is thirst, but it's not too bad. The game is mainly a hack n slash and some argue it's too repetitive but I didn't find that to be the case. I really enjoyed restoring the towns and villages. Nothing about the game is mind blowing or extraordinary, but it's a good game overall and very easy to pick up and play.
Not to me. It's flawless.x2 said:I know, but they're still gripes![]()
Its about $20 new here in the states, surely you can find a nice copy for a reasonable price.Hell Scyth said:I played the demo. I enjoyed it so much, that I challenged myself to make it through as many dungeons with enemies slain and georama parts in place when I did. I could get as far as two levels past the first boss before the demo timed out... never got my hands on my own copy though, and to buy it isn't cheap!
Yeah, it shouldn't be hard to find at all. Just keep looking around Amazon and eBay, and places of the sorts.Hell Scyth said:^
0_o You're lucky. Guess I didn't Ebay hard enough to find it. lol
Hey ThravRande! I was wondering if you know of any spots that I can find to make big and fast money by fighting monsters and such.ThravRande said:I played it. ^_^
Then I played it some more.
Then I became addicted to it.
Now I play it through at least once a month.
Personally, I think it's one of the best games ever, ranking number 3 on my all time favorite list.
Fist off, the best thing about it is the georama mode, where you can collect houses and trees and rivers and such and place them where you please in their area.
Another great thing about it is it has a real nice Real Time fighting style, which goes along with all the dungeon crawling you have to do real nicely. The controls are fairly easy to master, but regardless, the game remains a challenge.
It doesn't have much "replay value" but it's such a fun game, that I bet you'll want to play it again when you finish it.
There's 6 playable characters, you start out with one character, Toan (that's his default name, you can choose a name for him at the beginning of the game, and you can pick the other playable characters names as well) and each area you gain a new ally, excluding the last areas. Each character uses different fighting styles, and has different abilities. For instance, Toan can collect "Atla" in the dungeons, which contains buildings and people and trees and rivers and such, which you can take outside the dungeon and place as you see fit.
Toan also fights with a sword, and although you can get different types of swords, he can only use swords. He can't use guns and whatnot.
The second character you get wields a slingshot, so she can so the long range fighting and when you need to do close quarters stuff, you can simply switch to Toan. She can also jump across gaps in the dungeons, while Toan can't. So if she dies before you complete a level, you might have to leave the dungeon to revive her if you dont have the item to do so while you are in the dungeon.
As you progress, there are certain things that you have to get certain characters to do, such as only certain characters can open certain doors, and soforth. Everyone on your team is important, but Toan is the most important because it is ESSENTIAL to get all the Atla.
The only thing I wish they had done was make it experience based. Your weapons can gain experience, but you have to find special fruits to increase your health, and you have to find gourds to increase your stamina.
Another great thing about it, is the soundtrack. It has some of the most astounding BG music I've ever heard, although I will admit I think Dark Cloud 2 has a slightly better soundtrack.
I give it a 9.5 out of 10. If you dont have it, get it. And if you get stuck, let me know. I know the game in and out. I even know some of the stuff Level 5 didn't want the players to find out about the game. (i.e. the broken dagger glitch, which when applied to a weapon, maxes all of it's stats out).
If ya need anymore info, or have anymore questions about Dark Cloud or Dark Cloud 2, post 'em up. I'm almost positive I can answer them.

I'm just trying to get the most amount of money without putting in too much effort.ThravRande said:Whatcha wanting to buy?
As for money making areas, once you get to queens, buy a flapping fish and some ice from Ruty. Go to layer 17 of the shipwreck, and check out the back floor there, loads of spoils on that particular level that you can sell for some big bucks.
Have you beaten the Dark Genie yet?MR.KAZ said:I'm just trying to get the most amount of money without putting in too much effort.![]()
Forgive me Thrav I mislead you.I'm only about 30 minutes into the game.I was just wondering if there were some glitches or monsters that drop big gold.Perhaps some trick to get big money early in the game.ThravRande said:Have you beaten the Dark Genie yet?
Not really, it's a fairly simple game. One tip though, save your backfloor keys until you near the end of the dungeon, (Tram Oil is the backfloor keys to the first dungeon).MR.KAZ said:Forgive me Thrav I mislead you.I'm only about 30 minutes into the game.I was just wondering if there were some glitches or monsters that drop big gold.Perhaps some trick to get big money early in the game.![]()
Lay it on me!! I spent over a decade playing rpg's with no cheats.I've earned the right to cheat. :lolThravRande said:Not really, it's a fairly simple game. One tip though, save your backfloor keys until you near the end of the dungeon, (Tram Oil is the backfloor keys to the first dungeon).
There is a glitch called the Broken Dagger Glitch that can be done once you complete the shop in Norune Village (Gaffer's Buggy), which maxes your weapons stats, but it makes the game much too easy. I'll only tell you if you really want to know.
