Do You Think A Game Like "Liesure Suit Larry" Is Overdoing The Mature Content A

I haven't played Leisure Suit Larry recently but the ones I played before were quite funny.

I've heard that there were real "adult" games but have never seen them for sale anywhere. Believe me I've looked! Hahaha, j/k. I don't think they are crossing any line, the ratings are there for a reason.

Well, it's good that you're not in a position to control what people buy.

Ratings systems are great because they allow consumers the freedom to make informed decisions. By "consumers" I mean adults who purchase goods or services. It is the job of both the retailers to prevent underage people from buying certain content, and the job of the parents to prevent it as well.

However, as long as retailers are carding and parents are watching their kids, there is no problem.

I am glad that authoritarians who think that their opinions should be forced upon others are not in a position to censor everything in society. (That is, to some extent they aren't.)

That's just my point Grindspine, parents can watch over their kids and the retailer can card these kids until Rapture, they will find a way to get their hands on these titles.Half of the retailers don't even check for id.The rating on the game box is a joke. It's like alcohol,in my province, you have to be 19 to buy booze, kids have many options to get around the id thing.

Ultimately,the kids win.

Then those kids' parents need to be more strict and discipline their kids.

The media is constantly scapegoated for this type of thing. People don't take responsibility for their own actions anymore and want something to blame. It is personal choice to buy such content, thus personal responsibility.

Short of house arrest what parent can keep their eyes on their kids 24/7?
By law, children to an extent aren't responsible for their actions.

Grindspine,
You wouldn't be an attorney by chance? :lol

@Mega,Really?If anything,I thought the game would become more explicit.Go figure.

Parents can't really keep an eye on their child 24/7. I also think it's foolish to assume that no kid has ever played a game they weren't supposed to.

That's why any responsible parent should at least teach their kids the difference between fantasy and reality just in case they happen to have friends with parents that do let their kids play M-rated games.]

Trying to prevent a kid from playing something mature by getting rid of mature games altogether is too extreme of a measure, and it would never work.

Leisure Larry, the newer ones are actually not as extreme as the original PC games in comparison. Just tons of swearing and many sexual puns. It tries hard to go over the Mature rating, but I still consider it a rated M.
