don't be deceived the ps3 is actually cheap entertainment

Correct me if I'm wrong, but without the wifi adapter the 360 console has to be physically plugged in to an internet router to access Live, right? I'm pretty sure that's the case, and it being the case I think a lack of wifi connectivity to a wireless router is a big concern, especially for someone who plans to play online. I know for myself I share an internet connection with my roommate, and because he has a wireless adapter in his laptop and I don't in my desktop the router is in my room. These circumstances mean we'd have to run an ethernet cable through our whole apartment to connect our 360 to the internet, or buy the wireless adapter.

Instead we use my roommate's laptop as a modem for the 360 whenever we need updates (still don't have the NXE), but if we had live accounts... we'd basically need that wifi adapter.

Which was also kind of my point. It depends on the situations of the gamers. I don't have the same problem as you. In fact, when I was in a living situation like that I had no problem running a cord across the apartment. And no, it was not in the way or anything because I made it look neat having it run under molding and whatnot to make it not as visible. Not to mention the cable only cost me about $7 total for a 50ft. cable. I'd rather spend that than $100 on a wireless adapter or an extra $100 to get a console that includes WiFi. I trust a wired connection a lot more than wireless one.

Like I said, around here in my area and even around coworkers who do nothing but play videogames, only two people that I know of actually own this peripheral and only one uses it regularly. So I would say that it's not that big of a concern.

I don't think you understand my point.

My personal experience has led me to believe something different than you, therefore, you are wrong. Admit it. :lol

Also, trying to sell the PS3 by telling people they get more value out of it than the 360 or Wii is a bit redundant. The people who care about that already know it, and most likely already own one. The people who don't already own one either 1) don't care because they already own a Wii/360 and value it quite highly, or 2) still don't have an extra $400 lieing around to throw down on a game console.

It's like trying to sell someone a Lamborghini when you know the vehicle they currently own is a Cavalier. That person already knows the Lamborghini is better, they knew that when they bought the Cavalier in the first place, telling them yet again that better vehicles exist isn't going to change anything.

I guess I did misunderstand your point. The point that I thought you were trying to make is that you need a WiFi adapter. Which you don't. You just prefer to go wireless due to your living situation, which is fine. And if something has led you to "believe" something else, how am I being wrong, when we're both going on our own intuitions? My experience has led me to believe something different than you, so I can say you're wrong too. So not exactly sure what you're trying to get at here. I don't believe it's a overall big concern now for gaming in general. Maybe when WiFi standards get better in the near future it can be a lot more reliable and feasible for everyone.

In all seriousness, I don't have a problem with Microsoft not including the Wifi adapter in the console to begin with, but I do have a problem with them charging $100 to purchase one after the fact. Kind of reminds me of another company which has been known to use the same tactic.

I also think it would be great to add another cord around my computer desk and entertainment center, because I just don't think there are quite enough cords running about in those areas as they are.

Well, yeah. $100 is a lot of money for something that I don't believe is essential.

I've always looked at the hallway and kitchen of my apartment and thought "wouldn't it be great if I had the constant hassle of an ethernet cord running through all of this?" I have also sat and stared at the door of my bedroom and uttered in dismay "if only there was some great inconvenience I could add to the door frame which would make opening and closing my door a chore... if only."

I also think it would be great to add another cord around my computer desk and entertainment center, because I just don't think there are quite enough cords running about in those areas as they are.

Alright, I can see how you might have a problem with the door. Canadian door frames are probably built worse since my door has enough slack for carpet and the cord. Anyways, I got your point :D. For me, I'd rather suffer a slight inconvenience in order to get the best signal to my console.

Might want to ask Microsoft about that one because they haven't changed the price in the 3 years the adapter has been on the market even though it was ridiculously overpriced when it came out.
