Sega Dreamcast Dreamcast Nights?

They never did make a Dreamcast... did they?

Why do you think Sega left that title out?

Post it up :)

At Christmas time, Nights would change into a Christmas game where all the trees, lights, characters, etc. were in Christmas uniform. Basically, anytime the console was set to Christmas day it would do that.

Another interesting fact, Nights utilized a special control pad that looked a lot like the Dreamcast pad. It was circular with an analog stick I believe.

yeah.... the 3D pad.

My nights came with it, but what is so special about it?

I never knew nights did that!! Are you serious?!?!

I know Phantasy Star online for the cube did that :)
It played Jingle bells in the lobby :lol was pretty cool.

yea, but nights is so much better. All the backgrounds, characters, etc. change to a Christmas theme. Gawd, that was such a great game.

I usually play my Dreamcast when I get tired of my Playstation 2 and want to really get back into all those old games I got. :woot

well... the dreamcast is really not that much older than the Ps2 :lol

the DC does have some decent games on them.

For some reason, I liked PSO for the Gamecube.... better than nights for the Saturn. Its just fun playing, but so is nights.

I hated PSO for Dreamcast! I was confused the entire time while playing PSO and that pissed me off! It was like the game was a big maze and I couldn't find my way out of it. >:(

I think you are confused about Nights doing that on Christmas day,
I have a demo sampler called "Christmas Nights" and it does that.
But I am not sure about the regular game doing it.
Correct me if I am wrong though.

I don't know what the hell your talking about.  :-\

But anyways, I just booted my Dreamcast the other day and was playing Marvel vs Capcom 2 and I beat my top score from like 5 months ago!  :lol

I can't understand why so many people liked nights. It was just another cookie cutter platformer. Sega was just trying to cash in on sonic's success with a very similar game.

The rule seems to be that if you have a very successful game, make a very very similar game, the success of the new game will be short lived and the original game suffers.

WHAT!!!!
I never in my life have seen a game that comes close to what Nights did!
This game was not a platformer, the only parts that would be even considered a platformer would be when you turn into the kid or the girl, but that would require you to be a sucky player...you don't suck do you? >:(
Nights was pure flight and that is what makes the game shine.

Yuji Naka refused to make a sequel, he was pleased with the final product and felt it did not need a sequel.

Yet, many still beg Yuji Naka to bring back Nights. He has considered many ideas, but nothing is solid.

Biggest reason I think Yuji didn't want to go back to Nights, because during Saturn's years he pretty much disappointed the Sonic fans. So he had to even it out somehow
