Dungeon Fighter Online (who plays or who is interested?)

WII, PS3 AND 360 FTW (also nintendo DS XD)
I've been playing Dungeon Fighter Online for almost a year now which has led me to believe that this is the only MMO I will ever enjoy for such a long period of time... about a year ago I was looking for a fun, fast paced and still overall deep MMO. My quest went from Rappelz to Shin megami tensei imagine and even World of Warcraft and I just didn't find an MMO i could stick with for a long time, don't get me wrong those games were fun but something was missing... until I found DFO.

DFO is different than other MMOs because it is basically a 2D sidescrolling arcade hack and slash game like golden axe or double dragon, filled with RPG elements to boot, as such its battle system is more about pulling off combos and properly dodging enemy attacks. The way dungeons flow is again similar to old beat them up games, you defeat all the enemies in the screen then you can proceed until you enter a boss room where you fight the boss to finish the dungeon.

the game has so far 5 classes to choose from Slayer, fighter, priest, mage and gunner (along with female gunner who have many differences from male gunners). In a diablo 2 fashion you cannot change the character's gender or look when you begin the game (which is one of the few problems i have with this game) however the level of actual combat customization that there is in this game is no less deep than other MMO's. After you reach level 18 you can pick one of the different sub-class a character has (slayer has blademaster, asura; priests have monks/crusaders) each sub-class has its own set of advanced skills, stats and recommended equipment, and each class has its own strategy for pvp and pve... for example monks are the combo freaks, they get close to the enemy and link skills to juggle enemies around, while summoners (sub-class from mages) deploy their minions and try to run away from the enemies...

the PVP aspect in this game is actually one that i enjoy a lot because the way the game is balanced (though some classes are still being balanced *glares at mechanics*) pretty much the level of skill of a player is a big factor in pvp rather than level difference or equipment difference, these factors just help a good or bad player, and matches often seem to emulate the same feeling i get when i play a 2D fighter because to perform a skill you either press the button the skill is bound to or you perform its command (example: to perform the monk's hurricane n roll skill you can input half circle forward-skill button or to summon a tornado you press right->up then skillbutton)

and here is a trailer of the game that I love so much and i hope one of you joins the fight!

I only tried it for a couple days but it was pretty good from what I played. Definitely worth it for a free mmo. Just 2D fighting types aren't my kind of games >.<

I played it for a month with sone friends but we all gradually lost interest so we stopped playing. Was pretty fun though

I might actually try this.

And I can use my arcade stick on this? Hmmm much more interested now.

yes you can... in fact it is the entire reason why i tried to make mine work with my pc but did not succeed T_T

Is there a site with the command list of the characters? Most notably the Fighter?

yes and no. there is a skill builder that can basically tell you what skills you can get and how much SP they cost and all the stats BUT the game recently had a "cataclysm" sort of patch called the priest patch which balanced the game dramatically so I am not sure how accurate the skill builder is as of now.... there is an accurate one out but that one doesn't offer as much info

http://www.aradsociety.com/planner/?class=grappler

this is the old skill builder

http://oldmanclub.co.cc/asps/

this is the updated one

the sub-classes for the fighter are grappler, nenmaster, striker and brawler

http://dungeonfighter.nexon.net/GameGuide/SkillsDynamic.aspx?cat=Fighter

this website tells you at what level each sub-class learns what skills

Hmm...I might try again then. I got kinda annoyed after hearing the differences between the NA one and the Korean one so maybe they fixed that

that's what the priest patch basically did, make the game closer to the korean version, the only thing we are missing are EX skills, Fgunner awakenings and the thief class but those will be coming soon
