Favorite Bands

The Beatles are my #1 favorite band. What I listen to otherwise depends on my mood. I like Björk, Snow Patrol, Green Day, Weezer, Modest Mouse, Ludo, The Killers, Nirvana, Yuki Kajiura, and Bach. Right now my favorites are Story of the Year and From First to Last.

That's all the wrong cases to dislike a band. I say that if there is a band that does political songs and you have similar beliefs as the music then that's the more reason to like them, hence why I like Flobots, (hed) PE, and Machinae Supremacy so much, if not then just don't make accusations about the band. Sadly, I just don't like the sound of the new Green Day.

You're right, those are stupid reasons. Politics have nothing to do with their music, which has evolved over the years. It's no longer bratty-punk stuff about girls and skateboarding. Billy Joe said he wrote American Idiot's songs to feel the way he was, which was middle aged.

The fact that most of the songs on the album were political is the reason why some don't like them anymore. It just wasn't Green Day that they were used to.

American Idiot and Holiday are the only political songs on the record. :lol

Everyone thinks it's talking about Bush with the phrase "American Idiot," when Bush has nothing to do with it. The "American Idiot," is a character by the name of Jesus of Suburbia.

hmmm...i wonder what slipknots 5th album will be like...

I just listened to a fourty minute Tom Delonge interview with Rolling Stone, and I have to say he is a genius. Pure genius. His views on the music industry are inspiring. He believes that each decade has it's own standout record, with the 80's being U2's "The Joshua Tree," and the 90's being Green Day's "Dookie," but we don't have one. That's what he was trying to do when he created Angels & Airwaves, create a record that this decade will be remembered by.
