That's right, FF12 isnt even released a side story game is in the works for the DS! Those crazy Japanese Square-Enix workers dont know the meaning of "Bathroom Break" I bet!

Square Enix revealed new info on its NDS RPG Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, the story does not tie with or take place before the stories of Final Fantasy XII, the game simply shows Vaan (18) and Penelos (17) living in Luftpiraten . All the airships from FFXII will be in this game, as well as new ones; and the relationship between the two characters will be presented in a way that was not possible in FFXII. The battle system will involve the use of stylus and touch screen.

Cool, I hope it turns out well. I just traded some stuff in for a DS, so if you guys have any tips I would love to hear them ;-). So far I only have Tetris DS, and my next game will probably be Metroid, Mario Kart, or New SMB
 
Anyone else heard anything about this game? I guess it's going to be released in the US but who knows when that will be. I didn't much like FFXII on PS2 though anyway, dialogue was way too hokey and forced, gave it a cheesy feeling. Gameplay was really good though and I like hunting monsters.
 
Play magazine reviewed the Japanese edition and gave it an 8 out of 10.

+ Incredibly lush visuals, good characterization, snappy gameplay

- Unfortunately easy; theme and story are a 180* turn from the original FFXII.

From what I've read, Revenant Wings is way more lighthearted. :)
 
anyone interested in final fantasy XII: revenant wings?

i am, i'm not sure if a final fantasy game should be a RTS but hey in the DS RTS are really good so i will give this game a try

So, is this a spin off or sequel? Wht kind of Battle system will it use? anyone else excited?

i already did a topic about this game but no one answered so it's now in the pile of forgoten topics....

anyway it is a sequel of FFXII and the battle system is a combination of RTS and the gambits and espers of XII. and yes i am very exited

well the only thing you should know of the story is that FFXII has a happy ending XD and the characters...if you know that then it won't spoil you a lot
