Yeah I am into Dungeon RPGs but with chocobos, I will avoid with burning passions. The reviews seem to not be all that hot either.

well you should belive in your own reviews, many games have gotten a B+ but turned out to be great, you should at least give this one a chance, it is quite great and chocobos are cute with a white mage robe XD

What sets this one apart from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon? the inclusion of a Chocobo?

the job system, and the fact that you do have a good story behind the game, summons and familiar final fantasy elements, a more challenging experience, and a very good looking wii game with high production values

So this game is trying to sell itself, not on the merits of being a good dungeon crawler, but rather on the thrill of "familiar final fantasy elements", "summons", and a good story and job system? It sounds really like I should be getting a Final Fantasy X or something!!!

No, cause according to Zidart, this FF Fables: Chocobo's (sp) is apparently selling itself for the thrills of a normal FF game, so we should avoid both games and just get a mainline FF game.

first, you asked me what made this different from pokemon mystery dungeon, that's what makes it different, a better story, a deep job system, challenging gameplay, and familiar FF elements, you did not ask me to tell you all the elements of the game.

second, OF COURSE IT HAS FF ELEMENTS *points at title of the game*

i have not said such thing, i answered the differences between this and pokemon mystery dungeon.

ALSO it is a different Genre, this is a dungeon RPG not a normal RPG they are different.

Yeah and I asked you specifically what sets this apart, based on your initial answer there is nothing that sets this one, although it is a dungeon crawler, away from anything else in the mainline FF games. Thus a valid reason to not get this averagely moderate game.

Do you realize how few elements FF games share?  Chocobos and summons are quite literally the only things that are consistent in all FF games.  The fact that FF: Fables has the same summons as other FF games and Chocobos doesn't mean that nothing differentiates it from other FF games.

Also, on what grounds do you call this game averagely moderate? You haven't played it, as far as I know.

you asked me what sets this apart from the pokemon dungeon games, not the FF mainline.

however it is impossible for you to say that's a valid reason to not get the game, because even though this game has the familiar elements of FF games, it is the first time they are put into a dungeon crawler, making it a very innovative mix, and this makes this very different from FF games.

and also you have not played the game yet so you can't really judge it

To automatically "throw-out" my claims because I have not played it is quite biased to say. Whether or not you like it or not or if anyone else likes it or not is clearly not useful to say because it has yet to be out for massive release. Im not even claiming that it is bad or good. lol

If anything, both of you all share the same viewpoint that has yet to refute my claim for not even investing in the game. This game is simplye a FF-X on Dungeon Crawler steroids. As zidart has so graciously indicated and as Homicidal Cherry has repeated, chocobos, summons, and the other things in the mainline FF games are present in this one. Thus because the only benefit you are getting is dungeon crawling, it would seem that the superior experience would be on the mainline FF games and that only "HARDCORE FF COLLECTORS" should invest in this "FAN" fest. That is exactly what your original statement had littered all over it: THat because the game has mainline FF elements that are timeless and true, that this game would cater to those that loved the series.

Clearly a hardcore fan-biased comment...

And EVERYTHING ELSE can be different. EVERYTHING! To say that this game is a dungeon crawler version of FFX because it has chocobos and the same summons defies logic. The story, setting, and gameplay, differentiate this game from FFX, or any Final Fantasy game for that matter.

FFXII had the same summons and chocobos, but it was the exact opposite of a fan service. Many hardcore fans of the series loathed the game, in spite of it having the elements which cause you to automatically categorize it as a fan service.

You already called the game "averagely moderate", which, while calling the game neither good nor bad, still established that you have already passed final judgement on a game before actually playing it. I'd say that's a good reason to, for lack of a better word "throw out" your opinion, that this game is mediocre, and call it unreliable at best.

He was just joking.

also the job system from FFX is EXTREMELY different from this one, this doesn't use a grid, it uses the job master system.

and about the white mage chocobo....

there's nothing more cute than that XD

If thats the case, then I guess the game is more than a dungeon crawler-ized version of any mainline FF game. I think that that original comment was an over generalization.

However it still doesnt provide enough to set this one apart from any other dungeon crawler. What element does it have that brings something new to the table, aside from the already discussed FF details. What inclination would I have to buying this if I already have 6 other dungeon crawlers?! Certainly the inclusion of a White Mage Chocobo and "familiar ff elements" isnt enough to make me want to buy it.

ok why don't you rent it first and make your judgement later???

and also this is a quote from wikipedia
"The gameplay involves randomly generated dungeons and turn-based battles of the Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon title, though new elements have also been incorporated into the gameplay, such as the Job system, which features ten jobs.[4][5] Different jobs change the appearance of the player's Chocobo and alter the layout of the dungeons the players enter.[5] "Pop-up duels" also make a comeback with the addition of enemy cards that can be brought to "Mog's House", where they can be used to play minigames such as "bat shooter", "kick darts", fishing, and gardening.[5]

The player uses the Wii Remote to control characters, though the use of the Nunchuk is optional. The player can also choose to use the Classic Controller, if preferred.[6] As a player moves, Chocobo regains health, and if the player loses all of his or her health, he or she will be brought back to the beginning of the current dungeon.[7] The game is Wi-Fi compatible, and players can battle against other players."

it is more than enough if you ask me.
