Final Fantasy Fables for Wii (dated for North American release)

Man, I wish I could buy this, but I need to start saving up for Fall semester. It'll go on my birthday and Christmas list along with a few other games that I'm going to miss. :(

*sees the Choco*

Ah hell with it. I'm buying this the next day I have off. :D

All that says is: Final Fantasy fans who played previous titles including a Mysterious Dungeon title should buy this because of the thrill of "pop-up" duels.

Possibly to answer mine own question: The reason to buy the game is that it adds wii remote controls and will enable players to gain a new grasp and thrill of dungeon crawling. Not because of the Final Fantasy thrill, but because several of the game elements are innovative and new and with the inclusion of minigames, it is a sure bet that anyone will love this title.

No, Im not being overly negative for the purpose of arguing, but rather I was really asking to see if I should get the title since I hate reading about it on wikipedia (provides too much story and always sounds too biased like it was written by a blinded fan), and usually normal people are more informative then some other advertisement/media/outlets.

It looks interesting, but I really wanted to know if it brought anything really good to the table to set it apart from letsay, Baroque or any other dungeon crawler that I have tried.

it doesn't say that, did you read it =/?.

yes that's the answer.

this was not a biased comment from wikipedia, they were just listing the facts.

well i listed the features, and i can't really compare the chocobo dungeon games with baroque because baroque has a different battle system and also because i don't like baroque at all.

Yes, I did read it, and yes that is what I got out of it. I have no other way of declaring the thought behind the translation of that wiki read in any other way.

Fine I will remit the statement I read on the biased I gelt from the article and ignore it for the sake of speaking. But ultimately, after looking over what this game's core gameplay is about, it is no wonder that it "experienced strong sales in the first week after release in Japan, but quickly fell from the video game charts."

Honestly, would anyone who isnt a Final Fantasy fan or someone new to the Final Fantasy series really find any joy out of making an investment for this title?! FAN SERVICE ONLY

And you could compare it, compare it based on the battle system, people compare Tales games on battle systems to make declartion to which game did what right, so I cant see why that would apply to this Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Baroque, and Chocobo Dungeon!!?

the game is designed for people who like dungeon crawlers or final fantasy game, i can say the same thing toward every game developed(FPS for FPS fans, RPGs for RPG fans) is it so hard to rent/borrow this game to just see if is bad or good?.

sales =/= good game.

well if we compare previous chocob dungeon games with baroque, then i have to say that everything that chocobo did was right and baroque was wrong =P

Can you just answer a simple honest question for once. There are many a place in the world in which renting/borrowing are not options. People live in rural areas where all they can do is order online or travel miles away to any store to buy stuff, or are limited by stiff import laws and such. Renting a game is not feasible when there are no places to rent it from, borrowing is certainly not feasible when people around me dont have the same game systems or even desire to have games.

All I wanted was a simple opinion or statement not a question. I guess the only answer I get is the same one I stated in the beggining, "designed for people who like a dungeon crawler-zed form of FFXII (or any other mainline FF game).

Take this point: When searching online at a retailers website you are confronted with many choices for games in your genre. You see FIFA 08 and Pro Evo Soccer. Which will make getting one over the other, arent they essentially the same game? The same is true of here. When searching on Amazon and I see this game and some other Dungeon Crawler, why would I pick this over that one, ignoring their relative characters, what would make me pick this one up?

That is simply what I was asking.

you got a PS3 a few days ago and blockbusters are everywhere, so renting is an option =P.

it is designed for people who like dungeon crawlers and FF elements....BUT GET IT ALREADY this is not another form of a mainline FF, what you play here cannot be played in other FF games, don't be stubborn and get it already.

well i told you already what makes this different from the others, if you don't want me to make a list of why i belive baroque and other dungeon crawlers are inferior to the chocobo dungeon series then just stop the argument or you rent/borrow/buy the game.

For all you know I could have got a PS3 via online after waiting for 4 weeks for shipping.

And yes all I want is just a list as to why you believe other dungeon crawlers are inferior to the chocobo dungeons series. That is all I want side by side comparison type things.

if you did that then you can also rent games on-line you know =P?

*sigh* now that i think about it, what would be the point of doing it??? you would say is biased anyway so i better don't waste my time in critizing baroque and praising chocobo dungeon, because i have the feeling that even if i make that long compare and contrast list you will just answer me with a "that is biased".

so, i'll tell you that in my opinion chocobo dungeon, has depth in the character build, the graphics are good looking, the battle system is fast paced even fore a dungeon crawler, there's tons of sidequests to do, the story sounds good, and chocobo is plain cute.

Renting online is a hassle, I would have to pay steep fees and the places that do ship to my location are quite limited and few.

Yes that is fantastic.

Interesting, I guess I will have to pin this one up against others and see if it will be as addictive as my Pokemon Mystery Dungeon.

Thanks!

I think I will avoid it. It is just decent so I will save my money for something else.

Thanks!

yes, i noticed my mistake and did an edit XD.

so you could buy a very expensive ps3 on-line but you can't rent games on-line??? there's no logic in that, besides like i said you could just go to a blockbuster.

besides if you already have mystery dungeon why not try this one??? there's not that many dungeon crawlers recently

I dont see how a PS3's initial price being "deemed" expensive is relative to the arguement for the high price of shipping to rural areas or expending much time, energy, money, and gasoline prices down the mountain to reach some blockbuster in some populous town? That is too much to do just for a 3 day rental of video game. Online more pricey and they wont ship to my location.

if you could get a expensive PS3 to your area then a simple on-line rent is possible as well, they are not that pricey, the other possibility is just buying the game and then trade it in for something else later at gamestop, i mean you have survived without renting so far right??? and this is might be a good dungeon crawler for you, i mean if you liked baroque (that i thought was horrible) this would be like heaven for you.

but you know what, let's stop this discussion, it's obvious that you are dead set in not even trying to play this game, is ok if you don't want to but don't come to the thread and judge it if you have not played it.

Well I brought up Baroque because I was thinking about getting it. It seemed to have an amazing graphical style.

I dont think renting games is feasible, nor do I think buying a game, going through a speed run of it to trade it in to this gamestop and such and such places for the highest value possible is feasible either.

And I havent even offered judgement, I never said nothing pro-ff or anti-ff, only facts, hard solid facts and what they implied.

yes you did and cherry pointed that out, and also you have not said a single fact about chocobo dungeon since this conversation started.

i never said you had to speed run through the game.

baroque's style is good but in my opinion the game doesn't live up to his style

How else could I beat the game or enjoy it through the time that I am renting it unless I speed run?

you rent to try the game >_> if you like it then you buy it... if the game is short then you speed run but chocobo dungeon is not a game you can beat in 3 days

Yeah and back to the first point, how would I gain access to actually renting this game if I am in the rural area on the mountains?

Renting is definitely not one of the most feasible ideas. Even if I wasnt in an area unreachable by normal mail tactics, renting is out dated and no one spare, probably you and a close knit of forum go'ers actually rent games.

then if you can't rent it forget about it =/ but don't come here to judge a game that you have not played.

and you'll be suprised how many people rent games nowadays

Unless it is 304,551,218 people renting games then I will not be surprised.

And I havent cast judgement on a game. Why does it matter anyway if people cast judgement, isnt that why people do ask people about things, to get a judgemental stance on it?
