Final Fantasy IV DS now avaliable

Ah yes, thanks Zidart, I remember now.

Sonic was the example used to show that games that arent challenging are fun. While challenging games impeded gameplay, excitement, and story, thus FF games miss this vital connection and fail to connect with the majority of gamers.

That explains why it's the third highest selling video game series. Thank you for showing us the error of our ways.

Yeah don't get off topic. Sonic games are easy if you play them enough, I am really good at them because for like 3 years that's all I played haha. Plus this is the most stupid argument ever. For the first time I take Starrynite's side he meant he has beaten the game in one sitting multiple times. It's obvious what he meant. I don't agree that easy games are fun however. What's the point of no challenge. By the way I will be getting FFIV for sure but I'm going to wait a little before I get it, I still haven't beaten III on DS and I am picky with stuff like that.

For you and me Sonic is easy, maybe fore some people FF is the easiest series ever. You don't know that, you're speaking for yourself. Opinion and fact are two different things.

yes i understand i think i should finish a few games before getting FFIV but i really wanted to get it on the release day XD

After hearing and seeing NickThePunk cogent response, I will further remove myself from this insensical and logically flawed argument.

FFIV, if it gets high sales by the end of the year, then I will get it.

Doesn't that go against your previous statements of 'I only buy games on day 1, and if I don't buy it then, I won't ever'? And you can't understand anything about sales. You seem to think the FF series failed to connect with most gamers when it's the third highest selling series ever.

Thanks haha. I don't think you should get it because other people buy it. If you don't like FF don't waste your money.

Well once again Nick is right, I shouldnt get it "because FF is the Third Highest Selling game franshise"

Honestly how is that figure affecting me. When I play this game I am going to go, "HEY MAN, this game is the next best thing to seeing the GOD INCARNATE DEITY!!!, cause it is the 3rd highest selling game franchise thus it is hot". No, FF games have all been boring to me (Spare FF 10, 10-2, and Tactics Advanced)

And true, FHQ does remember that I do get games on day 1, so the chances of me getting this game are now next to slim unless it meets my qualifications as I set up here.

Actually, I was pointing that out o your comment saying the Final Fantasy 'fails to reach the majority of gamers', or some completely untrue statement you pulled from god knows where.

Good, don't follow everyone else. Do what you want to do. Be your own person.
Actually, since he joined, he's been preaching that high sales/popularity dictate you to like something, ie. Hannah Montana.

Yes I will never forget Hannah Montana. It just seemed for a second I got through to him when he said

Maybe wishful thinking or maybe it worked? Who knows? haha

I bought FFIII DS because everyone else was getting it and claimed that it was good, and I had followed it a long ways. I get it, it turns out to be bad.

What I learned is that I shouldnt have followed and rode on the enthusiasm of others for it turned out to be a waste of a money, time, energy, and it was nonsatisfying. Sure it was rave reviewed and had interesting sales, but that didnt effect me and my enjoyment of the game.

So this time. I am instead going to let this one pass. It isnt for me. Sure everyone else may do it and play it and enjoy it, but I just feel that, you know, it wont appeal to me again. Why repeat the same mistake when I can learn from it and move on. Why jump on the bandwagon when it can lead to dullness and boredom?

Simply put, this has become a situation of moral proportions. I will wait for Square Enix to deliver another powerhouse juggernaut like The World Ends With You, instead of a remake that just doesnt cater to me.

I loved FFIII. I thought it was difficult, but that made it more awesome when I got past those hard parts. For being so old-school, it was a lot of fun, more than I was expecting it to be. I will definitely pick up FFIV as soon as I have more free time. ^_^

In regards to Final Fantasy in general, TBH I think the play mechanics are outdated, but the story always makes up for it.

reviews of FFIVDS are quite high giving the game a 9.0 here is one from gamespot

I love how the reviews have definitely paid heed to the rise in difficult level of the game.

they actually like that.

and my favorite remade part of the game are boss battles =D.

If you're willing to put the time into experimenting with augments, you will uncover a slew of powerful combinations that just may give you the edge you need--and you'll need all the help you can get because the difficulty in this iteration of Final Fantasy IV has been increased tremendously. A majority of the bosses require very specific strategies to defeat, and the uninformed will likely perish several times in these encounters before they grasp how to claim victory. Even if you're a seasoned veteran who knows all of the tricks, don't expect things to be simple; some bosses have changed just enough to throw you off of your game, and all of them are a lot tougher than you remember. By the end of the game, even the normal monsters found in random battles are tough enough to wipe the floor with a superpowered party of heroes if they're unprepared.

it was like that with FFIII and i expected no less from FFIVDS

i bought it yesterday and is amazing, the voice acting is great (they have many well known voice actors) the graphics are very good looking and the scenes are even more dramatic than those in older versions, the music was remixed into something very nostalgic, and the difficulty??? boy i got killed by overworld monsters XD, i think FF3 lost its crown as the hardest FF, but still that's not a flaw, for me that is a plus.
