Finally gave in, buying a 360...

My friends kept talking about it, and I decided its worth getting. I don't know where I'm getting it from yet, but I'll likely have one this weekend.

I'm getting a VGA adaptor so I can fully experience the 360 in HD surround sound on my PC setup :D

BTW, BV, if you have any available I'm game :)

awesome, I'll get one as soon as I have about $400 dollars, better check the savings (50 cents and a button)
this may take a while :lol

Sweet dude! I think I may follow in your steps! I was gonna go the pc route too but meh, a little bit pricey right now for me. Once some more games come out and stuff 360 will be really sweet so yea I say go for it man! Let us know if you find one and all that.

P.S. I feel a bit embarresed to admit I did not know *just* how powerful the 360 really is ::) Really amazing for the price and that is what changed my mind from before when I said the 360 is not worth it. Tis' very worth it indeed!!!

I don't know about that...

@ spartan... I'll see.... but I highly doubt I can get one... I get get games and accessories for you though :) IE if you buy the system... I'll be more than happy to get you games... I have a few in stock right now, wired and wireless controllers.... and I think I can get the remote AND Xbox live kits. Just let me know, and I'll hook you up.

I am still not sold on the 360 yet. @ X2... what exactly changed your mind?

BV :hat

Well BV the thing is, I was originally going to buy a 360 just for Oblivion but I had worries about how it would handle the game, i.e would it be buggy and choppy like Morrowind on the xbox. So than I was thinking of going the pc route but what I've learned is that it would take a pretty high end pc to match the performance of Oblivion on the 360. I miss out on using the construction set and mods but I just can't pull 2-3k out of the couch cushions ya' know? So, for me the 360 is the next best thing to a high end pc. I just have to hope its game library will match its performance this time around!! Poor xbox, so much lost potential.

Sorry for the slight derail spartan.

Good stuff Spartan! Have you any games bought or pre-ordered yet? Well, congrats and I hope it works out for ya' :)

Well, I'm talking to BV at the moment about gettin PDZ, COD2, and/or Quake 4. And a VGA adaptor so I can play in high-def surround sound!

How does a VGA adapter help in the surround sound? I thought it was only for monitors. :-\

What would be the point of having a HD picture without sound? ::)

Ah see, that's a hybrid that I have never seen before. So technically we are both right. And yes I know there is no point in having no sound with an HDTV. ::)

Alright, I'm $100 dollars away from the xbox 360! Now I just need $1000 more dollars to buy a TV to play it on :(

Well, here is a sort-of solution.  Right now Toys 'R' Us has Geist for the Gamecube marked down to $9.98.  Wal-Mart sells them for $49.92.  What I did was buy about 10 Geist Games and return them to different Wal-Marts in my area.  I then used the credit to buy 360's and resell them.  Or, you can use it to buy a HDTV from Wal-Mart.  Not bad to make $40.00 profit on each game returned.  But you did not get this from me  :D  I just use the excuse that my kids got multiples of the game for their B-Day.

wow, that is quite elaborate, unfortunately there is only one Toys R Us in my general area, so they might catch on...just maybe

I only go check out Toys 'R' Us about once a week and snag as many Geist Games that come in. They also have Final Fantasy 1 & 2 for the GBA for $9.98 (those catch $29.98 at Wal-Mart). This also helps with my gas for my truck because with Wal-Mart Credit at the GAs Station down here I get 3 Cents off a gallon. The store you want more of is Wal-Mart. I have 4 within 10 miles of me, so it makes it easy to do multiple returns. Wal-Mart takes back anything.

No I dont want more of wal-mart. I wont go into the whole ethics of why. Even if they are morons and except any return.

I'm surprised Wal-mart takes those off your hands...

They take back anything, literally! I stopped doing this, but some others I know still do it. Hey, I got my last 360 for $85.03. Not Bad!!! I am older and make great money as a Sheriff, but if I can stick it to Wal-Mart (I hate Wal-Mart) I will do it at any chance.
