Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon for DS

Fire Emblem started out with some fairly well-made sprites for the NES. Whatever they're using for this game reminds me of something out of Age of Empires.

they did an improvement in the sprites but the style is the same old gritty kind from the NES or somewhat similar to that.

besides the gameplay is where everything is at, plus knowing marth's story is interesting, not the deepest plot in the history of fire emblem but is nice to know its roots

I'm on the chapter where there are a ton of ballistas. Man it sucks.

Actually I was doing good...I'd used warp to get up close and kill them, but then I miscalculated and got too close to the main boss, and like three or four members of my team got killed all in one turn. :(

i beat that chapter yesterday, i found it quite hard at first but then i figured a way around it.....i did a couple of experiments because this is the first time i played a stage like this.... and saw which characters were in danger of dying with a few shots of the ballistas so i just tried to go all out just like marth said and destroy the ballistas as fast as i could and i made sure that only the units who could stand an attack from the boss where in his range of fire.... soon enough the only thing left was the boss which almost killed my archer.

the only thing that did annoy me was the fact that in order to obtain astram i needed to put midia in range of fire and she could die with one blow... which left me depending on luck.... and i hate that >:(

So Astram must be worth getting, then?

On another note, I have like four Master Seals now, and I have four characters close to level 20. I can't wait until they reach it so I can evolve them. :D

Do you need a Master Seal for Marth or is his evolution a plot thing like they were in previous Fire Emblems?

1. no.... but you know me xD always getting what i can
2. me too.. creepy thing is that my healer has the highest level... that never happens xD
3. no he never promotes... he has a higher level cap though

Yeah, actually I think my main healer Lena is my highest leveled character. :lol She's about 17 right now. Mostly because I gave her Psychic and Warp, so she gets a lot of EXP.

Second highest is Frey, and then Abel and Cain are around the same level, I believe. Marth is around 12? I can't remember, but he has less experience than I'd like, probably.

The only thing I can really say about this FE is that there are too many characters, so it's hard to get experience for the ones you want to have get the most EXP.

it shouldn't be that hard to level them up if you have a core party of 14-15, just remember to let weaker units get the final blow and try to use low level units first. if it can beat an enemy, then GReat go ahead and press A if it can't then use a higher level unit to lower the enemy's HP so it's enough for the weak unit to beat him (however if the enemy unit MUST be beaten then just go ahead and beat him).

remember there is a loan unit feature. i can loan you my units if you want, my marth is in level 14 and so is my merric, or i could actually get some help from your units because my abel and Frey are at level 14-12 (i didn't use Cain) so yours are probably stronger than mines. and plus i think you are ahead of me in the game :D

my friend code is 051726217819 PM me if you are interested in trading units or having a small fight

I think I screwed myself over by not leveling my Mages/Sages.

I'm at that level with that one guy that you can only use Starlight on, and of course no one in my party can use it except this one Sage who's hella weak because I never used him before. My two bishops can't use it. :sick

Plus, I have trouble with all those other stupid mages who have Swarm.

My ballisticians come in handy, though.

Merric FTW xD

Yeah I actually ended up restarting and then I focused a little more on making Merric awesome. And it worked. I got back to that level and managed to kill the real dude and get the Falchion. ^_^

Now I'm on the last level.

hopefully you kept the whitestone for the manakete... best...attack...ever xD

Probably, but I don't use the manaketes, even though I have Tiki and her brother?

I don't know if they would make a huge difference at this point.

is not, it just makes the final boss easier in normal mode and... possible to beat in merciless mode

Well I think I may actually be screwed again. The thing that probably has me screwed right now is that Marth is not really leveled at all. I don't even know if he's above 10. Which is sad. I spent the game getting Caeda, Lena, Abel, Cain, Frey, Wrys, and Merrick leveled and forgot about Marth. :sick

how did you do that????? well its ok just keep trying, there's been worse cases in a fire emblem playthrough (one of my friends was dumb enough to play path of radiance with only 9 characters alive.. he didn't beat it but he got pretty far)

Nope, not yet! I bought the first one for GBA but have not actually played it yet, but I am a fan of the type of game if that helps.
