First look at Sonic Unleashed (Wii, PS3, and 360)

Nah, because Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 were great, and that's what they're aiming for in this one. :)
Do you think half of the people who made those games are still at Sonic Team, a struggling developer, 10 years after they were made?

Nope, the biggest reason Sonic games are doing poorly is because most of the early people left.

well if you put it that way i think checking both versions would be good

same here 8) i am a die hard sonic fan (the only thing that made me die for once was shadow and sonic 360 so as long as they don't repeat something like this i'm ok)

That's fine, but all we're asking for is an explanation of why, a little logic behind your opinion. It is indeed an opinion so I'm not trying to prove that you're wrong. I just want to see what formed your opinion.

my opinion is formed in these facts.
1. sega nailed some things with sonic and the secret rings, it was a step on the right direction (and is more recent than the disasters of sonic 06 and shadow)
2. the guy that worked on both sonic rush and rush adventure is a guy that learn from mistakes.
3. this will be 2.5D like rush and rush adventure

but i got nothing to say for the 360/ps3 version i HOPE it turns out ok but i have doubts with that because the only thing we now is that they aim for sonic adventure 1 and 2 and well sega has the tendency of missing the mark, but well if both games are somewhat similar they might end up both being good.

Actually, to drag down some hopes around the Wii version, Dimps is doing the daytime levels. All the nighttime werewolf sections are still being done by Sonic Team. 'Cause the only thing better than having a Sonic beat 'em up is when it's made by Sonic Team.

Time for Metacritic Sonic game scores!

Non-Nintendo games:
Sonic 06 - 43
Sonic Rivals - 64
Sonic Rivals 2 - 60

Nintendo exclusives:
Sonic and the Secret Rings - 69
Sonic Rush - 82
Sonic Rush Adventure - 78

Dimps developed:
Sonic Advance - 87
Sonic Advance 2 - 83
Sonic Advance 3 - 79
Sonic Rush - 82
Sonic Rush Adventure - 78

So a Dimps developed Nintendo exclusive game is usually considered better.

that actually gave me more hopes around the wii version

Well, the beginning part was more the drag down hopes part, considering beat 'em up stages shouldn't exist in Sonic games and being done by Sonic Team pretty much guarantees it will be bad.

well sega (specially sonic team) is actually very good with beat them ups or fighting stuff like phantasy star for dreamcast

Weegee: The Ultimate Terror. See, even Sonic is afraid.

Anyways, yes, I remember somewhere it being confirmed that the nighttime parts 'include a larger focus on combat'. Or something to that extent.
