Since it seems that most of us have this game, and it's the same price as CSS now...

Team Fortress 2 Game Meeting!

Make sure to check the SteamID topic, and add yourself to the list:

So we'll meet up at 9pm Central time this Friday (5/9) on Steam. Add me on steam sometime (steamname: efl|lamer) and hit me up with an IM through Steam at 9pm. We'll all join a server. Mics are not required but are encouraged for gameplay and general discussion amongst EGA players.

Hope to see you all there!

EDIT AGAIN: Looks like this is still on! Company's showing up earlier, so I'll still be able to hang out with them and not look antisocial, heh. Practice was cancelled.

Re: Game Meeting: 5/9/08 Team Fortress 2 -- 8:00 Central Time

How bout we do multiple games that night. Like have CS 1.6, TF2, and CSS. Or other games like Day of Defeat. That way we have more people that can play the games.

Well, I was kinda just wanting to play TF2 on this night. We'll be doing other game meetings, just not at that time. If we get bored of TF2 sure, we can play something else... but TF2 is first.

And the only problem with a dedicated is size. If there's enough of us, we can do a dedicated (we'll have to find an open one though)... but if not many show we'll have to just join some pub and possibly be on the same team.

well, anyone of us that has TF2 can make a dedicated server and size really isn't a problem. I can put it at 16 players and we'll be set. There aren't that many people that play TF2 on here to fill a room of 16

Ever tried running a dedi and playing with over 4 people? The pings are outrageous. It's cool for two, maybe three people... but anything more and the pings jump to 100+ easily. It just isn't playable that way in TF2... that's why people rent servers so often for Source games. The biggest reason for this is because you have your computer's upstream being taken by the dedicated server, and you also have to run TF2 yourself as a client. Having the server and a client on the same network is a big nono in gaming networking.

Anyway, my team has a rented server. Maybe we can meet up there. I just need to brush up on server commands.

EDIT: Just so you guys know I had to bump the time back to 9pm... forgot about team practice at 7:30PM so I won't be open until 9pm.
