Few, if any, negative comments were ever, or will ever be, made about this game. From the moment you started playing, to the last moment you spend playing it (your own death), this game delivered on all of its lofty promises, and then some. The winner of this award will undeniably be a work of art, a must-have experience, a testament to the potential of the medium, and like a fine wine will only become more flavorful as it ages.

You may change your vote after you have voted, so be persuasive and let everyone know why you voted for the game you did, and why they should too!

Brawl, hands down my favorite wii game of the year, i started playing on march 9 2008 and last time i played was about 30 minutes ago, it is a game that keeps me into it, into get all the rewards possible, and even when i got all challenges done, 100% in the subspace emissary, all trophies and stickers i still wanted to play more and more of it, but the multiplayer experience is where everything becomes addictive for me, i never get tired of playing with somebody else because it's always a different experience.

in other words XD it is my game of the year

I have to go with Zi, although I have different reasons. The biggest one was that SSBB was the only one that I could sit down and play for more than half a hour at a time.

Not to be blinded by choosing a game simply because it is my favorite....Brawl is the best game that has been released on the Wii for this year. The game features an interesting experience for local multiplayer. The single player is perhaps one of the greatest experiences for games in these fighting/brawling genres as it not only benefited the gameplay but it enhanced the experience with each character. It perhaps forcefully made us use characters that we may not have had any desire to play with. Although this mode used a feature that has been taken to the extreme in low budget titles from the states and seems to be a common feature in Japanese games--face each boss in the boss world, then go back and face them all again!--it can easily be forgiven with the way that Nintendo produced high quality cutscenes with a few memorable moments (Snake coming out of a box with Lucario behind him, Pikachu and MetaRidely, Diddy Kong and Fox, and last the assault on the Bowser Craft).

Multiplayer was another excellent feature that has made this system shine. Sure there may be naysayers and say it is too repetitive but there is plenty to be enjoyed with ceaselessly playing as Ness or Lucas and swiningthe bat against the enemies for 99 minutes straight. The unlockables in the game were far and many, the modes massive, and the massive playlist of players never gets tiring. The game is worthy of a 9.5 out of 10 in every regards in my book.
