Gradius IV

I found a copy of Gradius III & IV recently in a bargain bin for $7.99. It took me about two seconds to swipe it and get it to the counter. I had the guy show me the disk before paying for it as I hate dealing with game shops that take the disk out of the case...

The disc was in perfect condition. Any stickering came right off the case. The game is friggin' phenominal!

I will admit that the random spiders flying across the screen in the Japanese version of Gradius III are kinda silly. My SNES with Gradius III is hooked up to the same TV though... So, I have beaten Gradius III a few times this month after getting completely owned by the eye thingy at the end of the cell stage in Gradius IV...

Definitely one of the best side scroll shoot 'em ups to be released!

Oh what a lovely collection it is! ^_^ I had this one and the PSP Gradius Collection (which is pure gold)

Funny, I was just thinking about this game. I was playing Animanics on Sega Genesis last night and I never noticed it, but in the 2nd Studio you visit, the VIC VIPER ship from Gradius makes a cameo! (Good ol' KONAMI )

Hmmm... I read this thread last night and when I got up this morning, I had to hook up the SNES. I had to play R-Type III. I played R-Type III for a while and then went and played IV. I ended back with III. Looks like I will be bringing in the New Year with the SNES and R-Type III. What a way to end this year! Blowing up aliens!

You inspired me Grindspine to man the Vic Viper again. Not that I needed the encouragement.
