Guitar Hero 3 Coming to Mac and PC

No longer content to be hooked up to your big screen HDTV and 7-channel surround sound system, Aspyr and Activision have announced that Guitar Hero III is rockin' on over to the more moderately sized screens of your Mac and/or PC this fall. We imagine legions of cubicle dwellers violating their company's IT policies, bringing their axe into work, and shredding the pain of office life away. More likely, we can imagine a portable rig on your laptop, just in case that whole Guitar Hero DS thing doesn't work out.

GameDaily spoke with Aspyr's Jay Gordon about the port, and got some burning questions answered: the game will ship simultaneously with its console counterparts; the guitar will be a USB model of the Gibson (sorry 486 gamers); and no word on how downloadable songs will be distributed but they'll share soon. And with this, the PSP remains alone, the only major gaming platform without Guitar Hero.

why will it be different whatsoever?

it will use a usb guitar, just like the 360 version of guitar hero 2 did
The computer screen is pretty small to play Guitar Hero on. To play with enough room to hold the peripheral, you'll probably have to move away from the computer screen. This will mean it will be harder to see what you have to play, and I would think, generally lead t a worse experience. Not only that, but they can't make the Guitar Wireless, which sucks, even though they can't on the 360 either.

Heres some things why i would like to play GH on PC:

-No need for a HDTV. The monitor can already make HD quality video without paying like a grand for a good TV
-Make custom songs without modding
-It will be the same experience as with the console versions
-As for the distance between the comp and yourself... I play DDR on the computer and that is about the same distance u need to be to play GH
-And yes it can be wireless if a company like logitech make a wireless controller like their wireless mouses and keyboards

1. the 360 GH3 guitar is wireless

2. you can use said wireless guitar with microsofts wireless xbox 360 to pc adaptor

3. the image size isnt a big deal, since you can plug your pc into basically any tv these days, and image size doesnt even matter for ANY game. i bet you didnt have a 1080p when you played N64, yet you still had a lot of fun.

1. My mistake...I'm thinking of Rock Band.

2. I really don't want to spend extra money, so I can play something, exactly as I could on the 360, or PS3, without the extra cost of the adapter.

3. Hooking up a computer into a T.V isn't an efficient solution for many people. (I can't even play it on PC so it doesn't affect me, lol)

EDIT: Ah. You edited before I finished. :D

It matters if I can see the freaking screen well in a game like Guitar Hero. Its important to be able to clearly see the notes your supposed to be playing.

lol me neither

and your right about spending the extra money

it might even come WITH a solution, for all we know :lol

ill be getting it for Wii

I was stoked about this news. I don't want to buy an XBOX and so many of the good games like Gears, Bioshock, Guitar Hero 3, etc are coming to PC. It's just a good situation to be able to play on the machine of your choice.

*laughs at everyone who only has a PSP* Only system left in the dust.
