Its kinda implied by the fact that you have an entire squadron of SPARTANS in the trailer. Plus, why would they not include SPARTANS if you are playing as the humans BEFORE Reach. It would be stupid for them not to include it. Also don't judge a game until you've played it. The game is in the hands of a VERY capable RTS developer. 8)
 
I didn't judge by how it is...I judged by how I think it will be. And it says in the article you'll play as the Marines...no Spartans.

SPARTANS are part of the marines. There elite soldiers in the marines. Also, the SPARTANs were a critical part of the human's strategy early in the war so why wouldn't they include it? That would be like making a Real Time Strategy game set in Rome and not include any Roman legions.
 
Well it says nothing of the Spartans so I'm assuming no spartans will be in this game. Spartans were super warriors. If you had an army of them, there would be no sense in playing the game.

SPARTANS probably aren't really much stronger than an elite. The Master Chief is special I guess because if there were hundreds of people just as strong as him, there would be no way the humans would be losing the war. SAPRTANS aren't that increibly powerful. They just have faster reflexes and shields (the elites have shields too). 8)

K. I'm sure they'll tell us that SPARTANS will be included in the game sometime. Its a long way from the release date and there's plenty of time for updates and new info. 8)

The article saying you play as the marines is wrong. You will play as the UNSC, which utilizes marines and Spartans among other things. Spartans are in the navy, as indicated by Master Chief's rank.

And, being a Halo game, there will be playable Spartans, if for no reason other than appeal to the masses.
 
Until I hear that Spartans are playable, I just won't believe it. It doesn't matter who they are or what branch of the military they are in, I haven't heard that they're in the game.

I'm being a negative Strubes about this game. ;)

If the game has Spartans in it, I'll be happy, but until I see proof, Im just not. :lol
 
I have more info on the Spartans thanks to my contacts.On the subject of it being no point if you have legions of them. Take previous RTS's for instance. The Spartans may not necessarily be right on call. Previous games, like this (Warcraft or Dawn of War as examples), have had such mighty characters, but rather than making them spontaniously available, they are made into specific elite units that may only be used sparingly. In other words they may be used as a 'Hero' unit, or, as a primary commander in which there may only be one availble to a single force.

Also, the Spartan unit, according to my contact, is the Second gen of Spartans. Not the first. (of cource this is just as likely to jumping to conspiracy).

As more info, there may also be 'Rebel' units. Taken from the first Halo book. And I'm not trually sure about it, but the Flood could be a usuable force (but perticualry used later in the game). Once again, it's wise not to jump to conclusions. Much more data on this is yet to be compiled so therefore, much could simply be gossip or conspiracy.

I'll try to gain some more info from as many of my contacts as possible. But I don't know how much further they can take me with this. (at least I don't have to pay them :D )
 
Geeze, I'm allowed to make my own opinion. This game just doesn't look that great to me. Sorry I have insulted the almighty Halo gods, but my opinion stands until I try the game. :lol ;)

Hey I actually think Halo 1 and 2 were average. The only reason I think this will be good is because it will be made by a company who has made great RTS's before. 8)
