having problems with the 360

About three days ago i was playing smackdown and it froze on me. It gave me a scrambled screen. I thought it was the game because it had a few scratches on it so i took it to get it resurfaced. Well today i was playing Oblivion and it did the same thing about 3 times in a row. So i put in Gears of War and it did it at the main menu screen. Then i turned it off and turned it back on and it froze at the xbox 360 screen. And to add to the trauma i bought it from gamestop with NO warranty. I've only had it since april 2007 too. So i have no idea what to do with it.

They'll replace it with the same style you currently have unless it's been discontinued.

Oh, and Gamestop says that about every console so they can sell you their one year warranty. It's a way for them to get money for something that Microsoft gives you for free.

Man, I still remember the way they tried to sell me their warranty on my PS2. "Dude, you want our one year warranty for $15? Because everyone knows that all the current gen consoles suck and will break in less than a year."

i was thinkin maybe money back for me to buy the elite but anyways, i called the number and it didn't give me anything so i guess i'm gonna keep looking.

Just get the serial number off the hard drive, and call the Customer Support. But speak slowly. Because the call center guys are Microsoft employees in some non-English speaking country. So their common sense will be lacking and their accents will be thick.
