Heavenly Sword to have over 10 GB of sound data!

Ninja Theory's Heavenly Sword has some beautiful music -- anyone with the demo can testify to that. An interview with lead audio Tom Colvin has quantified the developer's focus on aural satisfaction: 10 GB of sound data is included in the game, according to Develop.

That sizable number includes approximately three and a half hours of music, sound effects and 4,500 lines of dialog. "There's an hour and a half's worth of cut scenes in eleven languages," said SCEE's Garry Taylor.

A dual layer DVD disc has an 8.5 GB capacity; will Sony be touting that its competition couldn't even fit the audio onto their discs? We'd be surprised if they showed restraint.

That's just nuts. Other systems can't even fit the audio ALONE on their discs. :lol

O_O Wow. $10 says at least one person's going to blow out their speakers trying to make it perfect.

I bet. :lol

4,500 lines of dialog? Are you KIDDING ME?!?! Honestly, this game is going to be alot longer than most action/adventure titles by the sounds of it.

Halo 3 has 40,000 lines of dialog, plus 20,000 other sounds effects. The only reason it has 10GB of sound data is because they probably aren't going to any sort of measure to keep the size down.

The Blu-ray difference isn't quite apparent. It has a slight advantage over HD or games like Gears of War, but not really noticable yet. Through firmware updates, Sony has announced that it can make the graphics 40% better and the sound 30% better. It's just a matter of time. Developers are still getting used to the whole "blu-ray" deal.

So, since they're putting more in a game, they're lazy?

not with this game in particular

i mean, i can see this becoming an issue, people making worse games, and having them take up huge amounts of space, because they dont try to minimize things

You just said that people would get lazy, and lazy is bad when you're making something.
