No, never seen the first one, never had to suffer through either. I don't watch Disney unless it's Boy Meets World late at night.

My brother and good friend insisted on watching it. They said they watched it so they could officially say it sucks, but it's pretty obvious they liked it. :P

I watched that much and changed the channel with a bitter taste left in my mouth. (ughh.)

I'm not gonna get into an argument about this, but "That's bad..." doesn't sound much like hyperbole. Hyperbole would be something like, "The fire created a heat as intense as the sun." Not "Liking High School Musical is bad."
