How many Wii's will there by the end of 2006? 4 million..

MegaDrive20XX

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
At the Leipzig Game Convention, Nintendo announced they plan to ship 4 million units of Wii by the end of 2006; and a total of 6 million units will be shipped by the end of March 2007; and the Wii console will cost no more than 250 euro.

250 euro thats awesome so thats like what 320 US sweet i love spending more than $300 on a console nowadays

I was very underwhelmed by this conference.

That's what happens when game developers put more into graphics than gameplay. Or at least in my opinion... :-\

its funny make a list of your top ten fav games of all time and at least 50% of them will be pre-PS1 era

Heh, about 75% of mine are. The price isn't that great... But it's still cheaper than the 360 premium pack and what the PS3 is supposedly going to be.

Wii is less than 250 USD in USA.. sounds like it sucks for Euros.

Yeah, it must suck. i don't get the 300 Euro deal.  I mean, I understand *partly* how the conversions work for determining the pricing for systems... but this one goes contrary to that pricing.

Europe gets the shaft all the time.
Except they now have a better exchange than we do. They used to get the shaft and have many different currencies... the Deutschmark was only worth 60% of the dollar. now the Euro is worth a decent amount more. The pound.... man... that is going really strong. Around 1.8 GBP to 1 USD

I know that Europe taxes people to death. Maybe that's where most of that cost comes from. Hopefully. :D

No man, they still get it.

Perhaps transportation costs are higher to get stuff from wherever Nintendo has their stuff made (Japan, China, Korea??) to Europe than from the formentioned countries to the US?

Dunno...just a theory.

i think everyone gets the shaft unless your rich as hell its just life you learn to adjust to left or the right so it doesnt hurt so much

Oh well, not like we have to buy a new system right when it comes out just because they want us to ::) Most of already have one of the 30+ other systems out there ;-)
