Holy mother Mary of God!!

My SECOND, yes SECOND system died! Guess what?? I had to pay $99 to get it fixed! Yeah that's right! Apparently I'm not under warranty!! The one these jerks sent me only had a 90 day warranty....and it died shortly after the 90 days from July...

2 dead....

However, the 3rd Xbox 360...with the $99 comes with 1 year warranty this time... :(

Uggggh....*shivers*

Sorry guys, you won't see me for a MONTH on Xbox Live....

That's only for the rings of death. It doesn't cover hardware failure.

Dang man, I guess some people just have bad luck with them...
 
I guess I should consider myself lucky...I'm on my first still.

My very first launch system died after about half an hour of play. I got another launch system from a different serial number batch and so far it still works. *knocks on wood*
 
Hm. I guess it's good for me to sit and wait. Of course Microsoft may never get the 360 right. Sure sucks, Mega. Maybe they'll send you one that will never die.

Kinda reminds me of the time Microsoft approached General Motors in an effort to produce the software for their On Board Diagnostics computers. GM laughed.
 
Damn that sucks man my 360 had the red rings of death last year...took 2 or 3 weeks to fix :-\.
 
What happened with yours, Mega? Mine died a few days ago, as well. Same deal.....100 bucks and about a month to get it back.

I got one ring of death (bottom right).......and an E74 error, which apparently deals with the video. I was actually going to post a topic just like this. :p

Oh, right.
And no, not bad luck, bad design. 33% fail rate isn't luck. I'd get it fixed, sell it right away, have it fail on the buyer, than buy one next year when they fix the chip.

Overheated. Which is the exact same thing that happened to my first one ironically, but they did not charge me, because the first was still under warranty. However, the 2nd one, had a "2006" date on it, instead of an 07. Which made no sense to me.

They probably gave you a refurb then.
 
I thought when it overheated it gave you 3 red lights, thus the extra warranty? I dont know, just going by what they told me. And they also said when I got mine back, I would get 2 more years of warranty. I don't know why they wouldnt do that for you.

Good point. The guy I talked to the first night was an idiot. He told me to wait 24 hours like my xbox would magically fix itself. Even the guy I talked to the next night thought he was stupid.
