I'm saddened...my DS died

After saying none of my consoles have ever died..I even knocked on wood! Oh well...when I plug it in, it charges for a half second...then dies out. I called Nintendo and they're gonna fix it for free of course (still in warranty) and add another year warranty on to it. Nintendo's customer support was very impressive.

Well that sucks :-\ But hey at least they handled it well and hopefully it will be a quick turn around.

A problem like that sounds like something you'd expect to happen with Microsoft. At least Nintendo maintain good customer support; such as that.

Are they giving you a replacement DS or just repairing yours? Is it a DS Vintage or a DS Lite? This brings up memories of my Hinge Cracked DS Lite.

Mmmm...I don't know what they're doing exactly. The service representative made it sound like they were going to fix it. And it's a DS Lite.

Hmm... sounds like either a battery issue as Mega stated, or a shorting in the charging mechanism. If you've ever seen the internal meat of a DS lite, you'll know that that thing is very weak lol.

I've had different electronics have problems there, but never a video game console... good luck Strubes :)

The problem with my SP wasn't the battery they said it was the part that connects to charge it. It broke and wouldn't connect all the way or some sort.

Thanks! Yeah, I tried another charger and it did the same thing..so I'm thinking it's the battery.

Well switching the charger itself wouldn't tell you, we're talking about the part inside the DS that the charger plugs into that connects to the battery.
