I'm starting to think these things are junk

sounds to me that there are two different versions of the xbox 360, maybe the ones that were first realeased had alot of problems

I think you just have bad luck. 3 defective XBOX 360s is a lot. I mean at my work I've only had three come back defective since the system came out and they were all from different customers.

When I say impatient I mean you encounter a problem and don't do enough to try to fix it, and send it back.

But see here's the thing, if they are brand new there shouldn't be any problems, unless they are from his end (Not having it plugged in, not connecting any other necessary wires, etc. etc.)

If they happened a year later or a few months later then he should have seen if he could fix it. I think he did the right move on this one and I too believe he just has bad luck.

Neph! I was actually wondering what happened to you, as I've not seen you for quite some time. Glad you're back.

All I know is FFXI has to be installed on the hard drive. Installing console games, BRILLIANT! :lol

That has nothing to do with the Xbox 360. It came preinstalled on the PS2 hard drive. They do this so you can install expansion packs onto the original game, apply patches, and it also decreases loading time, hitches, etc. since a hard drive is faster than reading from the disc.

There were tons of problems with the launch systems. I would have thought more than 3% were defective.

:lol

I specifically said that percentage-wise Xbox 360's were not exceptionally defective. You didn't believe me then BV, and you won't believe Mai now. What do we have to do to disprove the rumors!?

I don't know... all I am saying is that from reading and seeing the failures....  i can't believe 3% is it.  3% wouldn't have been as widely reported.

@ spartan... maybe so....

Yeah Spartan..but the only three I have seen in person have frozen often, and scratched discs...it is possible that those were just the unlucky few..but the 360 has a blemished name to me now.

OK, the living room 360 just came back for the 2nd time.... Now I realize they don't send you your original xbox back it's a refurb but you think they'd get it right....... but they didn't. Went out and bought a brand new copy of FIFA for the 360 and it froze. Not a single scratch on the disc, still froze. it's done it two or three times now... I can't believe this stupid thing.... please god I hope nintendo can make a better system

Wow
I hope everything works out, that would bug me big time...

Oh well, at least when you get a refurb sent to you in the mail like that the warranty starts over. I don't mind getting a new xbox every 30 days, it's just kind of a chore to keep sending one off and then having to move the one in my bedroom in the living room all the time! And as of yet Microsoft has yet to put up a fight about taking one back.

I'm still waiting for Christmas to get the 360. I'm feeling doubtful. I don't want a console that plays up all the time.
