Interesting Editorial if you're a fan of RPG's

Yes, I was an RPG basher in the past, and while I've not finished many rpg's I have enjoyed many an rpg. They've even inspired other genres. Sports games where you create and evolve a character is taking a basic element of rpg's and implementing it into their genre. Even Grand Theft Auto San Andreas set up so that you have to eat, workout, and exercise to evolve your character into a much stronger individual as well as mastering driving, riding bikes, flying, operating boats, and shooting different guns to improve your skills in those departments.

RPG's are king and game developers from different genres have taken notice.
 
They didn't mention any rpg series' on other systems, but I guess that's expected, since it's a somewhat older article on a Playstation forum.

At any rate, I agree, though. RPGs are my favorite genre, and no two rpgs are alike, so it's always interesting. Even games that are direct sequels always add new elements.
