Is anyone getting Fable?

I'm not... but I have a few pre-orders for it.

It seems some people are really digging the game.

We'll see... how it turns out.
Previews don't seem mind-blowing, but its not looking too bad.

I'd like to get it for Xmas, considering I'm already buying Halo 2 and San Andreas on release dates :D

EDIT: I decided I'll get it on it's release date. My parents wouldn't get it for me for Xmas for two reasons: one, it's rated M and two they wouldn't know to preorder the game.

I've got it preordered. But I'm less enthused about it now that I've seen reviews. However...it does look very good, just not quite the mind numbing good it was originally thought to be.

Well you have to realize that it's relative. IGN gave it, what, a 9.3? It's probably actually worth a little more than that. The reason why it would get a lower score than it's worth is that it was supposed to be a launch title, so the fact that it took so long to come out will automatically make reviewers think, "You know, this game has been in the works for years. It should be perfect." You know what I mean? I expect the same thing to happen with Halo 2. People will expect it to be a perfect 10 game and then be disappointed with some little thing.

GMR gave Fable an 8/10.  Same score they gave Doom III.  They also interviewed Peter Molyneux (creater of Fable) and he said his biggest regret is taking multiplayer out, but he also said they might have ways of getting it back :D !!

Actually, in the interview with GMR and PM, he said that he plans Fable 2, 3, and 4.  I'll type what he said for you, since I have nothing else in my plans today
"Obviously whether or not we do a sequel or what happens to the property really solely relies on how successful it is.  And I suppose we will be touching wood, crossing our fingers, and praying to the gods that it is successful.  But I have, in the back of my mind, a clear vision for Fable 2, 3, and 4.  Beyond 4, it gets a little bit hazy.  There are some absolute, definite things wth Fable 2 that I would love to do.
My view on sequels is that they absolutely have to be more amazing and more wonderous and more inventive than the original was, especially the second [time] around.  Normally in this industry we're used to seeing sequels that are little steps forward, but I think big steps are the important thing.  The only thing about big steps is that big steps take longer to do, so people wait a long time.  So one of the ideas is to take a small step, something smaller than a sequal perhaps.  We'll see."
That'll make Neph happy, cause someone else agrees that sequels should be big steps.

That's probably cause the game was supposed to be an Xbox launch title. That was how many years ago, so they're probably looking for the game to be perfect.

Sorry, I must've misunderstood what you were saying about sequels.

I think big steps is a good thing (heck, I'm getting Halo 2, San Andreas, planning to probably get Burnout 3, maybe Half Life 2...)

Sequels are fine, it's making the same franchise into the same game that bothers me.

Anyway, i'm actually quite envious about this game. It sounds really good, if I had more money/more space I might even consider buying an Xbox for it.

Hey,
I am going to get Fable for sure...I just hope the size of the game doesn't make it all laggy like Morrowind was.

Someone told me that Fable was supposed to be even better than Zelda. I was like, :lol

I want to play it, but not enough to buy it. Maybe I'll rent it or something.
