Is The "Sixaxis" Controller Doomed?

Hi People!

My brother tells me that my "Sixaxis" controller can only take so many charges,then it "Burns Out",causing me to buy a new one.When I bought my "PS3" I also bought a cable for it because I'm only a few feet away from my system,so I don't really care if it's wireless or it's "Sixaxis" feature.I've been playing video games a long time and I still prefer a classic style controller.

If he's right,will this cable I use prevent the controller from "Burning Out"?

Actually no, the original PS3 system manual that comes with your system, actually teaches you how to replace the internal battery. So your brother is actually trying to say to you, "Hey man, can I have $55 please?"
