iTunes?

Hey I just have a general question about because there is no way for me to find out unless I have downloaded it before or not, but how big are the TV episode files on it (like a 30 minute show and a hour long show). Because I am tyring to decide between a 16GB iPod Touch and a 32GB iPod touch and I do plan to have tons of episodes of shows that I miss on it.

Just go with the 120GB iPod classic. Can't go wrong, the slogan is "Take everything, everywhere."

Amen to that. Until the iTouches get larger memory I wouldn't even consider buying one. I bought a 30 Gig iPod "Classic" (back when they were called iPod Videos) and it fills up fast. If you're going to be watching a lot of video on your iPod, you'll appreciate the extra storage.

I agree... to a point.

Watching videos on that little iPod screen sucks. I own the 5G iPod Video that you have and I've seen video being played back on an iTouch. There is no comparison. Unless...

You are going to stream your movies from your iPod to your television. If that's the case, just get the Classic with the most storage and some iPod compatible Component cables.

Perhaps but it will help me in my traveles and leeway time when I can buy the episodes of a few shows to take them on the go. Amazon got rid of the digital download service for videos so the only hope left is the iTunes store which continues to get new things.

32GB should good I am guess and I will use my 32GB USB Drive to story a copy of all the episodes I download, until I gather enough to get a low capacity External Hard Drive. I wont be downloading those movies though, I only buy Blu-Ray, all the way.

Possible shows, include Desperate Housewives (Seasons 2 to now), Naruto, Bleach, and games as Bejeweled 2 and SimCity.

I have Itunes and Zune.

For Itunes I have four episodes of Bleach. They are all between 225 - 280 MB in Quicktime format. Bleach episodes are approximately half an hour each.

For Zune I have episodes of the tv shows Heroes (1 hour each episode) and the anime Witchblade (30 minutes each episode). The Heroes files range in size anywhere between 350 MB and 400 MB. The Witchblade episodes are between 170 and 205 MB each. The Zune videos are all in WMA format.

I have a 16gb ipod touch and absolutely love it. I don't go anywhere without it. I put a ton of free games on it and a couple thousand songs and havent had any problem with memory. Granted, I haven't put any movies on it, but I dont really feel like I need to. And those tv episodes can get expensive, too. A lot of them are posted on their networks' websites for free.

Don't have any type of MP3 player except my PSP. But, for any type of Media player I use Winamp, the best media player for Linux or Windows. And you can use multiple file formats so the size range is various.

For most of the tv networks they only put the latest two or three and I cant currently stream them steadily enough to enjoy them. And I have to catch up on old seasons so their episodes arent up anymore.

The best media player would be VLC.

Anyways, yes, Standard Definition content is not at all big. For a full hour long TV show in 720p, it will get as big as 1.4 GBs.

VLC is just annoying because you cant really make playlists as elaborately as Windows Media Player.

I doubt I will get an Episode of Ben 10 in High Definition, lol. Im not going to view any of these on my PC. HIgh Def on my internet in this aparetment would take hours :(

...videos don't really matter, it's an iPod.
The iPod isn't just for playing music anymore. it's more of a multimedia device at this point (he'll I'm typing this from my touch right now). Why get an iPod that can just play music and videos, when you can get one that can also play games and has wifi.

That's because VLC is a no-nonsense video player that plays absolutely everything. It's very rare to find a video file it won't play. I'm pretty sure you can get plug-ins to make playlists but it's up to you if you want to search for them. In the end, it is a very powerful media player.

And yes, High Def is very demanding which is why I asked earlier what type you were planning on getting.

Oh I didnt know they even offered HD, lol. I mean the only time I get HD videos is from GameTrailers and thats because it looks good on the PS3. But for the tv episodes, do you think it would even make a visual difference on the iPod Touch's screen?

No, it won't. But it's possible to stream the videos from your iPod to your High Def TV.

Ohkay, thats perfect.

SimCity and Bejeweled 2 will be fun on the touch, and with future support for Office Documents and Powerpoints, and PDFs, and with the browser it will be useful in class. And on the road or while I have free time the capacity for videos and music will be great for passing the time (my T-Mobile G1 will be used for surfing the net on the road and emails).
