Kid Icarus for Wii revealed?

I just don't see a game with Pit as the main character translating very well onto the Wii. You can make up the fact that I hate Nintendo franchises or give me a hard time..but I just see it getting a ton of hype, and being a big let down. Besides how corny Pit is with everything he says, I just don't know. Then again, Nintendo made an Italian plummer an icon, so you never know. I'll wait to hear details on this.
Wait, wait, wait. The single game you played with Pit in it was Brawl, a game in which he had literally no spoken lines and you think Kid Icarus will be a failure on the Wii because Pit has corny lines, and isn't a good character? You played as him for a total of an hour in Brawl (an hour of story mode). How is it possible to extrapolate anything reliable about his character or the way he talks from that?

Excuse me, you have never played Kid Icarus? You've only played the character in another game where there really is no Kid Icarus to it besides the character? I can see how this is greatly affecting the game that which is a platformer not a fighter. And he had corny lines? WTH, everyone had corny lines in Brawl. I can't really see where the judgment on a game from a series you've never even played is coming from.

But they didn't have their first try at 3-D on the Wii with waggle. I just don't think it will be good. Nuff said.
You've never played any of the games, so you really have no idea what it'll be like anyways, so...

Edit: http://wii.kombo.com/article.php?artid=11895# Early concept art or fan art? Plot leak or wishful thinking?

He does look pretty sweet, and the fallen angel look was captured nicely.

Here's a little tip. We don't know what this new game is going to be like. So we're all allowed an opinion, or guess if you will, about how it will be. I for one don't think it will do well...and yes...Pit's very corny..from the cartoon to Brawl...very corny. I believe they won't stray away from that with this new game.

Here's a couple other clues that I found in the original thread.

1. Looks like it says Pit
2. Could be Pit
3. Possibly the bow

When it all comes down to it, you guys can say "oh, you've never played the 8-bit Kid Icarus, so you can't possibly know what the game's going to be like." Well the fact is, none of us do. I honestly don't know how they could make it like the 8-bit version, so I, personally would disregard those games. This is all open to speculation. I'm alone in the dark on this one, but I kinda like that. ;)

Here's a little tip. Your statement was based entirely around what Pit's character would be like and how the game would fail because of what his character is like. His character has been in two canon games, neither of which you played, and a non-canon game, which you played, in which he had two spoken lines (his taunts) and was around for only an hour or two of the adventure mode. Call it speculation, call it opinion, but the fact is you haven't played either Kid Icarus game and are therefore missing a large part of how his character is portrayed.

You're right, though, that we don't know what the game will be like, but Pit's character has already been established in the Kid Icarus games. It isn't about speculation in this case.

But I'm confused...where's the tip?

Anyways, Pit's character my have been established in previous games, but he never had dialogue in them, so I would assume they'd try and base it more off of what he was like in Brawl. I don't have to play the previous games to make an opinion...contrary to popular belief. I mean, are you telling me that since you've played previous Kid Icarus games that you know what this game will turn out to be like better than me? Possibly, but we both have no idea.

Second sentence, reminding you that you were talking about the character. ;)

Where he had virtually, no dialogue, spoken or written? :lol

No, not at all. Just like someone who saw gameplay for Soul Calibur IV can form an accurate picture of Darth Vader. ::)

No, in fact, up to this point I haven't made a single statement assuming anything about the game. I have merely countered your assumption about Pit, the character.

Yes, one of Nintendo's big goals is to give all their retro characters full voice acting. >___>

well ike's dialogue on brawl is really corny too but in fire emblem games he's more rude and less "i fight for my friends =D" type, so you can't possibly say that because of this ike is corny on his games or you can't compare brawl's dialogue with this. same with pit, sakurai made him corny not the developers that are working on kid icarus, (or fire emblem).

also there's zero suit samus TALKING......woah does zero suit samus talk? (other than metroid fusion? and also you can feel link's and samus personality without dialogue (facial expresions and body movement are enough)

what i think is that because you have never played a kid icarus game you don't know the mood of the game, gameplay or anything for that matter, so you don't even know what to expect from this game. nights for example, the game was succesful for some because it portrayed the original in a great way and that's what many expected.

Uh...the same way other developers are making 2D Wii games?

Oh okay. :)

And for the little parts that he spoke, he was corny. Sue me. :lol

My thoughts exactly. :)

Ah, exactly. It's an assumption..a guess if you will, about what he would or will be like in the next game based off of small parts from Brawl. :)

read my post again =_=U if they didn't do it with ike nor samus then they won't with pit

My apologies Zidart. I was just responding to Homi first. I meant to get to yours.

I'm comparing it because it's the only dialogue we know of, no matter how small it was. I'm not saying a Kid Icarus game will have this kind of dialogue, but I'm just willing to bet it will. Just a guess.

also there's zero suit samus TALKING......woah does zero suit samus talk? (other than metroid fusion? and also you can feel link's and samus personality without dialogue (facial expresions and body movement are enough)

Yes, and that'd be cool if Nintendo can pull it off. The game will obviously sell well when and if it is made.

Even if I've played them, I probably wouldn't know what to expect out of an 8-bit game turning 3-D. It's hard for any of us to guess...but I will do just that...guess.

It's the only dialogue you know, because you haven't played any of his games. He has several lines of text in his games.

No, it won't. Voice acting won't raise sales for a niche franchise where the main focus is being alone on a planet.

No one said it was 3D. In fact, it would work just fine as a 2D game.

what fhq said and metroid prime 3 had voice acting but what would have hurt the game (and thank god they didn't do it) would be giving samus dialogue, she is suposed to be quiet all the time to keep it atmospheric

Metroid Prime 3 was proof Samus won't ever get a spoken voice. It gave everyone important except her one.
