Kingdom Hearts 3 will not be called KH3.

Tetsuya Nomura mentioned to Famitsu that the next Kingdom Hearts title won't be Kingdom Hearts III, it will not star Sora. The next game will server to bridge the stories in previous titles, and the protagonist will be another central player in the series. Nomura also mentioned he would like to have one Kingdom Hearts release every year, which indicates the next one will be released in 2011.

Ah, so it's not that Kingdom Hearts 3 won't be called Kingdom Hearts 3, just that the next Kingdom Hearts game in the franchise won't be 3.

Somewhat, it's going to fix the loose ends from what it looks like here. It's still 3, but has another subtitle.

Hmm, I'm not sure. Cause there's two other Kingdom Hearts games called 358/2 Days and Birth By Sleep..wouldn't that be 3 and 4 based on that? I think the next Kingdom Hearts game to star Sora will be the true Kingdom Hearts 3.

now my question to Square-enix is.... WHAT LOOSE ENDS???

I HOPE this is not another betweeen KH1 and KH2 game... we already have ENOUGH of those. Now don't get me wrong, i love every single kingdom hearts game released and I am REALLY looking forward to birth by sleep... but the gap between KH1 and KH2 has been explained over and over and over again..... and while 358/2 days left some questions that are going to be answered in birth by sleep.. it kind of discourages me that when i get that game i will still not know something until the next game in 2011 and the worst thing is... is probably more like a retcon.

so what am i trying to say? if this is YET ANOTHER KH1 to KH2 "fill in the gap" game, i am going to be dissapointed.... but if this is a "sequel" of birth by sleep then it depends on how much the timeline and story of that game interests me to have another dip at it.

Did we ever find out what the message in bottle at the end of KH2 said?
