LARA CROFT TOMB RAIDER LEGEND

Tommy V

I'm Not So Bad, Once You Get To Know Me.
LEGENDS NEVER DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well folks I got this game yesterday and last night when I got home from work I spent a good 6 hours playing it. What do you think I thought of the game? :D

BEST TOMB RAIDER EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

I seriously have not had this much fun playing a Tomb Raider game since TR1 and TR2.

First off Lara's new look is better than ever. Much more realistic as far as propotions and much cuter. The game overall is one of the greatest looking PS2 games I've ever seen. The environments are top notch and the feel of the game is very much like the first 2. Beautiful areas and even little details like Lara dripping for a while after a swim and still glistening a few minutes later. Her clothes as well changing shades of colors as they dry. Little things like that bring a smile to my face. :D

Lara's actions have been toned down. She can't jump pretty long distances like she could in the older games but that adds to the realism. She is mch more nimble with spiderlike climbing abilities and the addition of a magnetic grapple device is a super sweet touch. Lara can use this little item to swing across chasms, reach high out of the way areas and even temporarily knock down foes.

The game so far is much more heavily about the puzzles than the combat. The puzzles aspect really is what brings this game back to it's roots. As a guy who tends to use the help of guides in games like this, so far I've not felt the need. The game so far has had quite a few puzzles that with a little trial and error I've been able to get through without help.

An addition is Croft Manor. The Manor is a level in of itself. A whole bunch of secrets and puzzles placed al around the Manor. I spent a ton of time there movin' around and figuring out the puzzles. Solving puzzles has never been more fun.

Lady Croft is back and this time it's for keeps. 8)

That's what everyone says, I played the PC Demo the other night and I'm really surprised that Eidos finally woke up. It plays and feels like TR1 and 2 alot more then the other piles of wonderful steaming.....Poop... :)

I'm really impressed with the environments, the controls and the camera angles

Tomb Raider was never that fun to play...it just looked good for the time...are you saying that this game changes that?If so I may give it a try.

To me the first two were fun to play. I didn't care much for graphics as I didn't think it had that great of em. I had it for the Dreamcast or the Saturn...I don't remember.

This game is a breeze to get into. And hey if you want to have it a little easy they let you pick the difficulty level before each level/mission. You can try easy for starters and move up to harder as your confidence builds.

There's plenty of replayability. No matter how hard you look you are gonna miss some secrets. You can go back and find them to unlock new outfits and other assorted goodies. Also a few of the levels have time trials that you can apparently complete for more goodies. The ultimate prize apparently being a bikini in Lara's closet at 100% completion. Something to shoot for. :D

I feel this game has finally pumped fun back into the series and I think the fun factor is what has been sorely lacking as of late.

lol that's what I was thinking. Ok Tommy, just take all that you said, and put it in a word document. Then send it to BV. :D

Dude, there's so many different costumes in this game, it's ridiculous. And Lara looks pretty awesome in all of them. :D I like the Biker Chick ones though.

I've not seen that one yet but I dug her formal dress attire in the Japan mission. :D

Hey Mai have you done the mansion stuff? Right now I found the Gold secret statue and I'm missing like 1 or 2 silvers and like 2 bronze ones. I got all the ones in the pool room and the gym. Anywhere I might have missed? Or do some of the doors that won't open become available the deeper you get into the story, and that's where those last few are hiding?? I'm starting to wonder about that.

I'm not much for reviews or faqs and whatnot so..... :lol

Darn you Lara. :lol You're invading my dreams. :lol

No my dreams don't actually feature Lara but on the last few nights I've had two dreams that I vaguely remember but are obviously inspired by my new TR game. One dream featured me battling the creature boss you fight in Afganistan, and the other dream featured me in some King Arthur type sword fights. :lol :lol :lol I don't usually remember my dreams much but I find it funny that I have these dreams that seem inspired by this game. :D

Wow..You know a game is good when you dream about it. I never got into the Tomb Raider series, but I think I'll take your word on it Tommy and check this one out.

Well the game has been finished......by me. :D :D There's still more though. Now I must go back and find all the secrets I missed, then do the Time Trials. Did the one in the first level Bolivia. It was fairly easy, but I know some of the others will be much more difficult.

I think Lara says it best in Bolivia in this game....

She's beautiful. I'm falling in love all over again.

Couldn't have put it better myself. This game is so awesome I can't play anything else but it. Some have complained about the games length being too short. Not me however. Quality over Quantity, I always say. First off it's as short as you want it to be. If you really want to master it you'll have to go back several times to do everything so by the time it's over you'll have had a great and full experience. Now if all you want to do is beat the story then yes you'll be done in no time. But there is so much more to this game than just the story, which is top notch by the way.

The time trials I'm saving for last. Right now I'm collecting all the secrets, which are unlocking many new costumes which can be used when replaying levels. once I'm done with that then I'll move on to what's sure to be the most challenging part of the game, the aforementioned time trials. This game is so much fun to play that I'm enjoying going back and doing things that I've already done before, and noticing and discovering things I missed the first time.

This is definitely 1 game that is well worth the $40-$50 investment. I know I've more than gotten my $40 worth. I can also state for the record and without exaggeration that Lara Croft Tomb Raider Legend is now firmly in my Top 5 alltime favorite PS2 games! 8)

**EDIT**

Oops, my bad. I meant to post a link with strategies for every level in the game. I didn't use these guides at all really to beat the game, but they are proving very useful in finding those hard to discover secrets I missed the first time around. :D
