This is a shooter/RPG hybrid. If you didn't want that, go play Final Fantasy: Ultra Kiddy Edition.

What did I tell you about messing with my fellow members?

I think Cherry knows a bit more about this than you do.

FF on Wii...

Enough said.

Re: Mass Effect, first impressions.

I'm on my fourth play through so far. I'm telling you guys, this is truly the game of the year. Screw Bioshock. Screw Call of Duty. This is the one.

Re: Mass Effect, first impressions.

i might want this game to death and all that but i think bioshock and CoD4 are really the best games of this years (plus super mario galaxy XD)

I don't give a crap if it's a shooter/RPG hybrid. That's no excuse for BioWare to start cutting down on conversations with your party members, one of the best parts of Jade Empire/Kotor. (to give you an example, the romance sidequest involved 4 conversations with the Asari...4 conversations, and that's it. By contrast, I must have had 10-20 lengthy conversations with Bastilla, in Kotor (not to mention the sidequest involving her mother) and I still didn't hear everything she had to say). They also made EVERY SINGLE sidequest based around combat.

I expected Mass Effect to be an RPG, with combat like a third person shooter. What they gave me was a shooter, with leveling up, and some dialog options.

fhq, you're crazy. I only have 1500 posts at BioWare's official forums, and have played every BioWare RPG, other than NWN. ::)

In conclusion, Bioshock for Goty, EA+BioWare=Hell on earth.

Re: Mass Effect, first impressions.

I'd say "Don't sell stuff on here", but since he's banned it would be pretty fruitless to do so, so yes.

Mass Effect looks very good... one of the 360 titles I'm looking to get. That and CoD4.

Im gonna say this right now; i havent played either game, but talking it out sounds a lot less interesting than duking it out, as most people would agree. Unless, of course, non fighting sidequests do something other than talking and fighting and is STILL interesting?
