Halo 3 outsold everything in pre-orders alone...oh..wait...we're talking about MGS/SC. :lol :p

But yeah, Homi brings up a point. I didn't know the sales numbers, but I wouldn't expect SC to sell nearly as well as MGS games.
 
Halo 3 set new records for pre-orders, copies sold within 24 hours, and copies sold within it's first week. That's all. Let's stay on topic though.

But you said it outsold everything, not set new records. Outsold everything would mean...outselling in total copies.
 
I'm...over reacting again? Of course. ::) And setting records is pretty different from outselling everything, so it's safe to say I wasn't 'taking everything so literally'.

Yeah, I've seen the sales numbers, and I can tell you that MGS games, especially the first two, sold like crazy.

No, it made more money in a weekend, than any other entertainment product. That doesn't make it the best selling entertainment product in history.

Hell, any of the GTA 3 games probably have it beat, in that respect.

i disagree (for one you must know the reason) and second because i just don't like splinter cell games, i think metal gear solid has better story/gameplay/graphics
 
MGS has awesome advertising...I'm seeing MGS4 everywhere! It makes me want to buy it, and I don't even have a PS3.

I think I may pick up the MGS pack just to get into the series more. ^_^
 
I want MGS 4 just so I can drool over the manual, and get a tick closer to having one million sales on day one. And you all know what that means, right? :D
 
Well I for one like MGS and Splinter Cell and most semi realistic war games but if I had to choose one or the other I would choose the MGS series for sure. I love Sam but the MGS series just gives out way more information on each character and such, when I play MGS I actually feel like I know these people just cause of the deep storyline but you can't knock Splinter Cell either cause it is also a great series which i will always buy as well. Who can resist the sound of when Sam turns on his goggles? LOL
