Microsoft releases Banjoe-Kazooie 3 screenshots

When we said that Microsoft was springing some serious pre-Gamer's Day leaks, we meant it. While NeoGAF members were getting the skinny on Viva Piñata and Scene It? sequels, they also tracked down a backpack-ful of new screens for Banjo-Kazooie 3, Rare's adorable action platformer. We've put the whole mess of them below for your enjoyment.

The Joystiq hive mind is split on BK as a series, but even the doubters among us have to admit that these screenshots look ... well, they look magical, OK? There, we said it. They look like magical fun. Are you happy now?

Hopefully they add some post-processing effects and update Banjo's model. He's still just as squared-off and blocky as he was on the N64.

Weird on the fact he's blocky. Either they are doing that on purpose for originality..or like recky said, it could be just a prototype?

I think it looks too much like Kameo. Either way, I love this series more than I love Zelda or Halo, so I'll be the first to buy it. :)

Pfft, dream on. I'm snatching this thing up the second it hits store shelves :D

Apparently, they have a big announcement planned for tomorrow though.

Update:

The game's title has been named "Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts" and slated for a November release

I dont know what I will be more excited for in November, Sonic Unleashed or Banjo!!!

I love this image, I cant wait to see some video action.

Ok....this game is turning into a nightmare for Banjo fans. Vehicular combat? What!?

I agree. Why couldn't they have just made a platformer? I'm fine with some change but at least keep it in the same genre for Christ's sake.

Yeah, I was watching some stuff on this today...the main focus of the game play is vehicle-based....kind of a turn-off for me. :-\

The two genres that don't need more games on the 360 are shooters and racing games, so of course they make the one promising platformer on the console a glorified racing game. >_>

I have lost any faith I had left in Rare. Banjo Kazooie, I'll always treasure you as my favorite game of the N64 generation. Too bad you won't get another good platforming sequel.

I just hope this doesn't turn out like Sonic (though the next couple Sonic games look promising to me) in the likes that they keep trying and trying to throw a ton of Banjoe-Kazooie games into the market.

I doubt it. The first Banjo Kazooie game sold maybe two million copies, 10 years ago. A great deal of its fans have essentially forgotten about it since then, I'm sure so there really isn't all that large of a fanbase to exploit. It was never really all that big in the first place so unless the third game sells well, I'd imagine Rare will abandon the franchise altogether.
