Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition

I don't like it. First of all it feels too much like a Need for Speed: Underground rip-off to me. The best part in the other Midnight Clubs is the motorbikes, but so far I've barely heard them mentioned. This doesn't look good. Sounds like they are trying to copy Need for Speed: Underground too much and focus on being special too little.

Are you sure they're trying to copy NFSU? Because this seris did start before the NFSU seris did.

Im going to give the 3rd one a try though, I didn't like the 2nd one myself with all the unnamed brand cars they had, felt really cheap to me to see imitation of other real cars.

Sure it started before NFS:U, but this time around they teamed up with that DUB Magazine so you can style your car a lot. Just like you can in NFS:U, and to my knowledge you can't in the previous games. But hey, if it works, it works.

I don't like the whole building the cars and stuff. I just like to pick a car and go. That's why I like Burnout 3. :p
I love to build my car! Its like it shows how my style is, etc. I love it from the engine to the exterior part of the car, cant just get enough of the customizations! Burnout 3 is ok, I like the acceleration and speed feel of the game, but dont like the whole crashing part though, but overall its a good 2 player game! I'd reccommend Burnout 3 for rent though.

Didn't you say you just wanted to go from point A to point B *faster*? And you're stopping to build cars? :? :D

Yeah I did state that, and I also like to build it up first to get faster.

So here's a mathematical question for you: We both start in point A at the same time. I go directly to point B in a normal speed. You start by building up your car and eventually travel to point B really fast. So the question is: Who of us will get to point B first? :?

(the correct answer is me. You were to busy to build up your car and forgot to fill up gas.) :lol

:lol

Ok, I get your point. Did you really have to put it like that? :lol

Anyways, Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition has been released now, just in case people didn't know.

I just read a three page review of it at ign, and they gave it 9,2 out of 10. Sounds good indeed, but how come they didn't bother even mentioning the bikes? The bikes are the only thing I am interested in. Every city racer has cars, but midnight club offers bikes as well.

Yeah looks really good from Gamespot as well, but they think its better on Xbox though. I watched some of the videos once again and just fell in love with them! I want this game so bad! I wish they had Acura Integra in the game though, NFSU had it but in NFSU2 they abandoned it, which really made me sad. :'(

Yeah Im in love with that car! Im saving up my money so I can get one myself and hook it up. *bound to get speeding tickets*

Well I should be getting Midnight Club 3:DUB Edition this week hopefully. I remember when I played the other Midnight Club games and I didn't like them too much, didn't like the fact that you use fake cars. Im glad now that in this one they got some licenses on cars!

But how are the bikes? It's the main difference between MC (heh) and pretty much every other racing game.

I wish I could tell you but cant, I got the game but I've been in the mood for Skies of Arcadia for GC lately so MNC3:DE is going to have to wait until this weekend. Im thinking the bikes would be faster since they're lighter and have ALOT more acceleration than a car. Handling for it shouldn't be a problem either, unless Rockstar messed up.

So we agree there are bikes in it. ;) But the point is we can customize the cars, all the cars are licensed and all that, but what about the bikes? Can they be customized? How many are there compared to the cars? Can you drive bikes only and skip the cars completely?

Umm..there are alot of bikes from Harley to the sport kinds. I haven't unlocked the bikes yet in the game so I dont know if it fully customiziable, but Im sure it is. Some races require you to drive a certain type of car so you cant just use bikes throughout the whole game.

Also, I really like this game customization mode! Its way better than NFSU's customization, but the controls I hate them! I dont like how its so easy to make turns, its like you crash and you keep going without any slow down whatsoever. I think that's really too much arcade for me, so basically the gameplay just sucks to me.

Like Gran Turismo 4 in other words. It's the perfect car game in every way except gameplay, which pretty much ruins everything and makes it unplayable.
