Neo Geo CD Neo Geo CD load times... do they really bother you?

Honestly, do the Neo Geo CD load times really bother you?

I agree... some load times are really long, but at the same time, the majority of the games have small load times.

Please drop your opinions :)

the only load times that really bother me are the ones that occur mid level halfway thru a move sort. At the end of every level doesn't bother me apart from some fighting games that take an age to load your losing/winning pose.

The load times do not phase me in the least really. The only ones that can be painful are the Last Blade games and
KOF 99. Other than that its all good.

I still play my Saturn, Sega CD, 3DO and other old systems, and honestly the load times on Neo CD aren't as bad as some of those systems have on certain games.

I guess its just what your used to.

yeah the load times dont really bother me either, hey Dr. Acula do you have an import saturn or US becuase im thinking bout get a Import JAP saturn, for the main reason becuase all i can seem to find on the net the most is import games for the import JAP saturn and plus i wanna get waku waku 7 for saturn too and i only see the import version. and im not willing to drop 350 for neo geo waku waku 7 game for the neo geo cart system. and plus i dont even have a cart system. also im bout to get me a boot disk for my sega dreamcast so i can play imports, cuz i also want to play that game goru mark of the wolfs i think thats what its called? but i only see it for the import version of sega dreamcast and the cart system neo geo version is like $350 too. i wanted to get a neo geo cart system but i just dont think i can afford those games. lol. and plus some of those titles came out for sega saturn and dreamcast too. like the KOF 2000 & 2001, i think came out for sega dreamcast atleast for the import.

My saturn is a US model 2. I use a pro action replay plus cartridge to play Japanese games, it also doubles as a 1/4MB ram cart so your good to go with the SNK and Capcom games that need the ram carts as well.

Most of the best games for Saturn are import only, and same goes for Dreamcast, however Garou MOTW was released in the US as well. Blue had one in his store once if I remember correctly, he may still have a copy.

As for the boot disc for Dreamcast you can download a free boot disc from www.dcemulation.com called Utopia. It works very well for booting imports.

The last place I saw a pro action replay for Saturn was on www.lik-sang.com a very nice website for import accesories.

The load times are not half as annoying as paying $200+ dollars for a cartridge!

I only hate the KOF loading times, except 94 & 95, both are really good.
But, like a paradox, these are the games I play the most (with the permission of Fatal Fury Saga).

Welcome to the boards!

Kof 96 isn't too bad on laod times either, but I see what your saying..for people not used to load time I guess it could bother them, meh I have been used to alot worse loading times in my day...any one remember Mortal Kombat on Sega CD? Now THAT was some painful loading times.

your not the only one :)

there are more.... I am becoming less fond of the series.... I really only like the earlier ones... I think my fav might be 97.

heh. I am a Samurai Shodown and The Last Blade fanatic. Those are basically the only Neogeo games I like.

For most of the games I have, the load times aren't a big deal. For the ones with really bad loading times (Last Blade, etc) there's usually an alternative for me, such as a Dreamcast or Saturn version

*holds Dr. back....* yup she did man :lol

At Zforce: that is true... there is always another version.. but I'd say what... 85% of the games are acceptible? My buddy was saying... if you can put up with some Ps2 loads... and nearly all the PSX loads, you should have no problem with the Neo CD.

I totally agree, not to mention the saturn, 3DO, and Sega CD. They all have just as bad, and sometimes worse in the case of Sega CD, loading times as the NGCD. Its just a given that CD based systems have to load...I have never understood why this bothers people really.

The only game I've got where the load times are a pain is Last Blade 1 (I just got it off Ebay the other day) I wouldn't mind it so much, but the fact that there's a load for the intro to the stage, then it loads the fighters posing, THEN another load for the beginning of the fight is a pain. If they loaded the intro, then had a slightly longer load which loaded the posing and the fight, it wouldn't be so bad. Still a good game though

Well, just turn off the intro screen option, and you can go strait to the fights.
