Neon Genesis Evangelion

I began reading the manga. I didn't finish the anime but it follows it pretty closely. I love Asuka and Shinji. They are so cute and slightly messed up together. :lol

Misato rocks by the way. ;)
 
I've been reading the manga and it follows up the anime pretty well so I'll start off on episode 14 because it recaps the whole series from the beginning. Hurray. :D I'll go back and watch the others when I'm done.
 
I have been trying to decide if I should try to find a way to get the anime however I think I would enjoy it more if I read the manga first which is what I am trying to do for tons of series now. Good idea I hope
 
That's how I did it and I got hooked that way. :lol There are some differences on the two but most are just minor.
 
OH my gosh, now I have to wait until the 19th for it, I think! I was so wanting to get it this weekend. Anyway, I guess I should order the 2nd one soon.

The art is so great in the manga and the series is amazing imho. You might like it if you are into serious plots. There isn't too much humor but there is some here and there every so often.
 
i really did not think the series was as good as everyone said it is, very average in my opinion HOWEVER the movie (which is the real ending of evangelion) is a work of art and it's absolutely amazing, i am happy i watched the series just so i could understand what the movie was about

I agree i think that the anime was overrate i don't even own the tv series in my collection, tho i do own the movies there are town of them End of Evangelion and Death and Rebirth
 
I thought that the series and movies were all absolutely terrific. Now granted I didn't think that way the first time I saw them, it was only after I'd done research and deep thinking about the plot that I came to that conclusion. I've never read the manga though.
 
Okay I just ordered the second book. I prefer waiting for the special collectors edition (the ones that came out in 2002) rather than the 2nd release ones released in 2004...I will start reading the 1st one as soon as I finish the next Scott Pilgrim.
 
I think it's great but I will admit mine isn't that objective of an opinion. You see Neon Genesis and Gundam Wing were the first 2 anime series I watched and the reason I got interest in anime so I definetly have a soft spot for the series.
 
Ive ordered up to the 5th book so far, Ive been too busy reading school material, but I might actually start reading it instead of just buying them until I reach the final book. Oh well!
