New to Anime

When i say new to anime ive never actually watched entire series before but i wanna start so ive been lets say researching and trying to find series i might or will be interested in this is what i got so far

Fullmetal Alchemist (Ive heard of this series before don't know much about it but the base plot sounds interesting.)

One Piece (Used to watch this every morning but they only showed the first 2 volumes but i loved it i liked the mix of humor and action.)

Highschool of the Dead (It has zombies in it thats all i need to know :P.)

Fist of the North Star (Sounds interesting i like the plot and the main character seems likeable.)

Soul Eater (I like the sound of this series it sounds....interesting.)

Gantz (Again i liked the sound of the plot and heard it's gory.)

I totally second Fist of The North Star and Gantz. But if you wanna watch FotNS keep in mind you'll have to watch it subbed. So far only the first 36 episodes, New Fist of The North Star OVA, and the movie have been dubbed although not sure about the Raoh sidestory if that is dubbed or not.

I also recommend Berserk and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

Fullmetal Alchemist (Ive heard of this series before don't know much about it but the base plot sounds interesting.) The anime has finished, at least the sub (Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood). The Dub is still airing. If you dont mind downloading the subbed episodes then give it a shot, its a pretty awesome series due to the emotional aspects and how attached one can get to it.

One Piece (Used to watch this every morning but they only showed the first 2 volumes but i loved it i liked the mix of humor and action.) Still airing, would you want to spend weeks catching up to episode 461 and more. Online streams are available for like the first 164 episodes subbed, and the most recent 100 and such one onepiece official.

Highschool of the Dead (It has zombies in it thats all i need to know :P.) This is currently airing, weekly. Its pretty interesting. But i think its just going to be 13 episodes

Fist of the North Star (Sounds interesting i like the plot and the main character seems likeable.)

Soul Eater (I like the sound of this series it sounds....interesting.) This is particularly awesome, I like the characters. The story wont win on storytelling but its a fun series with lovable characters, I wish it went the whole distance with the manga instead of concluding. Anyway all 52 episodes dubbed and subbed and its on disc too. I like this one

Gantz (Again i liked the sound of the plot and heard it's gory.)

Well I commented in bold. I Would also suggest Ouran High School Host Club. It was perhaps the funniest anime series Ive ever seen and its just about 26 or so episodes.

School Days, solely for it's great ending. And Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni. Has some genuinely creepy moments.

Bleach (I haven't watched the anime, but I read the manga)
Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood (My favorite anime)

and I'm watching Soul Eater right now, I really enjoy it.

Does it have to be English Dubbed? Cause High School of the Dead is only subbed so far.

I suggest:
Code Geass
Outlaw Star
Tenchi Muyo!
Last Exile
RahXephon
Neon Genesis Evangellion

I suggest watching RahXephon, Evangellion, Outlaw Star and Tenchi Muyo! in English dub.

It doesn't have to be english dubbed but it is prefferd but like i said doesn't have to be :) oh and thanks for the recommendations people will deffintly look in to them.

You can check out anime newsnetwork for details of anime.

Here are my other recommendations

Clannad - heart warming and funny (One of the best anime i've ever watched)
Needless - Sienen (OP Characters and hilarious)
Tears to Tiara - (Its like watching an anime of Suikoden)
Lucky Star - (Cute and cuddly)
School of the occult - (Correct me if im wrong about the title) Mystery
K-ON - Simply funny!

I honestly Recommend One Piece, if you skip the filler arcs and just stick to the main story, catching up would not be a problem at all.
