Ninja Gaiden 2 Rumored for 360!

We're long past that, dude. :lol

hey he can post that. he wasn't here for it.

and I kinda wanna make myself clear on this thing about me. I do not think retro = hxc. I think hxc games are the games that can stand the test of time unlike all this clutter filling the market. Even though you think me not liking SM64 for it being a revolution in gaming I don't, I don't like SM64 because some of my first games are Mario games and I feel that 3D Mario games are not really Mario to me. Me wanting more challenge in my games makes me hxc? That's not the case. I want more challenge in the games so that I can get more play out of it paying $60 a game is hella expensive, and if a game is 10 hours long I don't think that justifies me paying $60. But, add extra difficulty or even Multiplayer (since this kind of the same thing) and you get more time out of the game. And asking for more time in the game says I think retro = hxc?

I felt like ranting. Thank you for your time.

A game shouldn't rely on difficulty as a crutch to stretch its length. Does it ever make you wonder, if the game wasn't so hard, would you enjoy it as well? Would it be the same game?

Ninja Gaiden is well-known for being hard...almost 100% of the time, that's the first thing mentioned when that game comes up in conversation. Not the combat, not the graphics, not the gameplay...the difficulty. Could it be that without that, Ninja Gaiden wouldn't be as good? Is Team Ninja hiding the fact that there's better games out there by making NG so hard that people are playing it just because it's hard and they want bragging rights?

pwn3d

everyone, you just got pwn3d

I'm not trying to choose sides, either. I'm just pointing out that action games can be good without being overly hard; God of War comes to mind. Yes, God of War is short, but I don't think making it insanely difficult in order to make it 'longer' would have been a good solution, and I'm glad that they didn't go that route.

Very true. Some harder boss battles in GoW wouldn't have been too bad, but I'd still rank the series up there with the best, despite the length. I loved Heavenly Sword as well. It was short, but the boss battles were epic. Heck, EVERY battle in that game was epic.

All I'm saying is that I want more challenge not difficulty and if u up the challenge the game gets longer and that helps. Personally all the games that have a hell of a lot more challenge is what I play more and is what I consider a better buy. And sure adding more difficulty would change the game but, lately a lot of these recent games that have been released have a win button in my eye.

Haha, no, we didn't get pwned, you guys got pwned by Ninja Gaiden. To be honest Ninja Gaiden was not even that hard, you just actually had to have a little patience and skill to play it. I think games are becoming way too easy and we are getting too accustomed to just breezing through games. Also, do not blame a game for your own lack of skills {no offense by that but it is true}. What really strikes a nerve with me is when people say crap like they made the game hard for bragging rights. It's just wrong to rag on a game simply because it made you mad. Ninja Gaiden has amazing graphics, an amazing soundtrack, phenomenal level design, and possibly the most addictive gameplay ever, and yet you people want to bash it because you actually had to put some effort in to it? Get real!

I was playing devil's advocate, not explaining how I personally feel about Ninja Gaiden, for the record.

Ninja Gaiden has amazing graphics, an amazing soundtrack, phenomenal level design, and possibly the most addictive gameplay ever, and yet you people want to bash it because you actually had to put some effort in to it?

Maybe if I could get past the second boss I'd appreciate all of that. ^^

It's kind of like Team Ninja painted a masterpiece and then displayed it to a crowd with blind people in it. Yes, I can be told it's awesome and amazing, but because I lack skills, I miss out on the full experience. It's a barrier. I know I'm not the only one who found Ninja Gaiden difficult, and I'm probably not even the only one who decided that despite how great it is, it wasn't worth the time adjusting to the difficulty curve, and moved on to other games that are just as good and still challenging but less difficult.

Sorry 'bout my last post, was a bit harsh, heh. See the thing is, Ninja Gaiden is not that insanely hard once you are good with it, which I think just simply takes a bit too long for most. I mean, when I very first played the game I was getting whooped up purty good, but only after a few hours I felt very confident with the game. Another problem with the game was the first 3 bosses, heh. Seriously, most of the people who quit the game, quit out of frustration due to one of those first 3 bosses. The thing that bothers me about that is that each boss has a special tactic or technique used to beat them, and once you figure that out they are truly cakewalks. For example, the first boss is impossible if you try to fight him straight up. You basically have to lure him into a corner, wait for him to lunge at you, then run up the wall and do a dive attack; rinse and repeat. You can beat him without getting hit once this way! It just makes me sad that so many people miss out on this game because they feel it is too hard, and it is truly one of the best games I have ever played!

It's totally possible. Helena and Ryu are part of the same series. Just add some revenge, sad stuff, and action and there ya go.

Oh, the first boss was a cakewalk once I realized I could spam the ceiling attack over and over. I don't think he even touched me in that battle. It was the second boss that I got stuck on. I came close to beating him, but couldn't quite do it. If I'd had like...one more potion, maybe. :lol Someday I'll get back to it and give it another go, but it's just not high on my list of priorities right now. :)
