Nintendo Gamecube Launch Revisited - Can You Recall?

Lets go back to 2001... the Gamecube launched in November if I am correct. There were many games launched for the Gamecube. Who can name the games?

Honestly... How do you view the Gamecube launch and the titles available on day 1?

I have quite a few opinions on the Gamecube Launch... but I want to see what everyone else has to say.

Seemed promising, but Sony had already beaten them to the punch as far as 3rd party support was concerned. I thoroughly enjoyed this console very much despite that.
 
Launch day games? Luigi's Mansion, Wave Race Blue Storm, Super Monkey Ball, Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2: Rogue Leader, Madden 02, NHL Hitz 02', Disney's Tazan Untamed, Batman Vengeance, Crazy Taxi, All-Star Baseball 02', Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3, and Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2. 12 titles in total on that lovely day in November :)

(Yes, I was there man! :lol)

The Cube launch was brilliant, those TV Ads were mysterious with the Samurais battling each other...I wanted one soooo bad with Luigi's Mansion. :D
 
I remember it. But I was a wee little gamer who was all towards Sony with the PS1 being my first system. :lol
 
i thought the gamecube launch was kind of weak to be honest. it wasnt too thrilled until Capcom announced the Resident Evil remake and then i saw something very special. dont get me wrong because i love nintendo, but it didnt have quite the impact of the Nintendo 64 launch with Super Mario 64/Pilotwings 64 or Snes had with Super Mario World. i felt better once Capcom jumped on board as a strong third party support.

also i remember there were shortages of N64 systems, accessories and games during the first months.
 
Really? I thought the Gamecube launch was great.

You can't lose with Super smash bros and Star Wars launch titles... Super Monkey Ball was an EXTREMELY pleasant suprise. AND NHL Hitz 2002 rocked :lol

Keep rollin rollin rollin rollin...

Yeah... both games never get old IMO.

I can play them forever... get a little tired of them, stop playing for 1 day, refresh, and then go backto playing the crap out the them. Playing the crap out of them for me is here and there :lol I don't have much time anymore.

My friend Victor used to play brawl, but since he kept losing to me, he said I was cheap as toon link, and I scroll down the library of non cheap characters just so he would have a fair chance. This is how I got good with everyone. I was all but Ike and Marth.
 
I used to be marth all the time in melee... But I'm all about ike in brawl :lol

Frickin addictive games :)

if you ever play with me, you don't have to do that, play with whoever you want :D i don't consider any character to be extremely cheap

His connection is soso, but I got used to it. Are you blade bluevoodu? Cuz that was me, being jared. And such. I PWNED Zidart when it was 1 on 1. Emphasis ob PWNED. :D

Blade is a friend of mine from school we exchanged friend codes today.

and yeah you are really good, no wonder your friend thought the characters were cheap, i bet he was just mad because he lost a lot :lol but anyway i enjoy fighting with people who are better than me to improve my skills so if you want to fight then bring it on :D
 
It's always fun fighting someone for a challenge. My friend victor is really good, I beat him all the time. My friend robbie is the same. They combined forces...


I WON they were so mad, and I couldn't stop laughin.

combined forces never work :lol because in the end they gotta beat each other (unless they are teaming up)

i do get mad when i get some stupid death (aka pressing the wrong button in the middle of a jump and falling to doom) but after the battle is over i recognize the skill of my opponent and keep trying, i am not the type that gives up after losing too much nor the kind that leaves after 1 win (one win is not nearly enough for me xD)
