Nintendo still has something up their sleeve

They are waiting until E3 to announce it.

With Super Smash Bros. Brawl already released and Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii both arriving before the second half of the year, that leaves many a Wii fan wondering: what's next? Appearing on GameTrailers TV (via Kotaku), Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime had a message for worried gamers.
"We're going to unveil the whole second half during E3," said Fils-Aime to host Geoff Keighley. "All I can tell you is what we announce during E3 is gonna be fantastic. The gamer is gonna be excited and the expanded audience is gonna be excited." As to what they actually have in store, Fils-Aime remained tight-lipped, only teasing that Nintendo will be "maximizing all of our key franchises" and that "there's gonna be a big game for the holiday that the gamers will want."

So what could it be? Kieghley's speculation of a new Donkey Kong game was quickly shot down, but he seemed to be getting warm when he mentioned the music conductor tech demo (aka Wii Music: Orchestra) Shigeru Miyamoto showed off at Nintendo's press conference two E3's ago. "Who knows? Maybe that's one of the things we'll talk about at E3," Fils-Aime coyly answered.

Even if that's the case, we doubt it'll have the core gamers that excited, so what else might they have in store? The long-awaited details on the Wii version of Animal Crossing, perhaps? Your guesses are as good as ours, but we sure wouldn't mind a new F-Zero right about now.

I think Animal Crossing is the most likely, but I have to admit I would love to see a Golden Sun on the Wii, as unlikely as it is to happen.

Animal Crossing...Pikmin...Star Fox(back to the roots, plz)...new Zelda? We still don't have one for this year...oh, can't wait.

Animal Crossing please. I only see bad stuff happening with a new Pikmin/Star Fox/Zelda game right now.

Something we're gonna be really excited about...hmm..kinda like Wii fit? :lol

Yeah, already selling over a million copies in Japan alone means everyone hates it. ::)

You totally abused the first half of that sentence. Also, Star Fox 64, Assault, and Command all had multiplayer, so odds are that SFWii will.

if the land gameplay is like assault i wouldn't care (change to arwing whenever you want) but having a simple shooter would be great. i just want a new nintendo game that's all i care Xd so whatever they make (except for DK...only nintendo series that i think went down).

BUT i hope they announce the release date of fire emblem DS wich i can't wait for ( fire emblem > everything else made by nintendo with the exception of zelda or brawl IMO)

That's a this year for us, so at least that's good.

Because Star Fox needs to end finally, the last couple games were garbage imo, Pikmin..I don't see much new coming from that cept some waggle features, and Zelda failed me with its latest (but you hate Zelda!!!) installment so they need some time to think of something new.

I believe you know what this means.

Sales =/= quality.

I agree with you there (I thought Assault was pretty good), but I think they should at least give it one more chance at a good game so it can be remembered as the classic it used to be on the SNES and N64, rather than what it has been lately.

yeah but for nintendo sales=money= we gotta make a great game to print more money.

star fox assault was good (command decent... at least it had on-line), oook the reason anyone would buy a wii is for waggle features and "those" nintendo games..... and they sure will think of something new (especially for zelda since the next one should be a full fledge wii title). but for now i'm happy with just fire emblem DS wich will last at least a year for me.

I wish it were that way. Developers see sales for the Wii and just throw in garbage games to hop on the money train.

I didn't buy a Wii for waggle features. I bought it for downloadable games and Brawl.

yeah like metroid, fire emblem and brawl are just garbage... the wii has games but the ones aimed at casual people are garbage... nintendo knows that the hardcore wants quality and quality they shall get.

that sucks for you because that's what most wii games have.

Quality we shall get? I hope so. They have what? Two or three "hardcore" games? Granted they're high quality, three games a year won't keep hardcore gamers happy.

Sure, waggle's fine and dandy when used correctly, but that's not what I bought it for.

Hopefully this new game they have up their sleeve will address online.

those are just 3 of the many good nintendo games i got last year.... i got 13 wii games, about 10 DS games and so far only hate 2 of them (wii play and super monkey ball). it might not keep you happy i mean you practically hate every nintendo franchise and i bet you don't even try the third party ones (like zack and wiki ). so again it sucks for you but this fanboy it's happy with what he has and what will get.

on-line works fine for me except for some occasional times in brawl.

*sigh*...your basis that I hate every Nintendo franchise is horribly invalid. We've gone over this plenty of times before. Guess how many games I have for my 360? None because I sold it. Guess how many for the PS3? None. I have 4 for the Wii, all which keep me satisfied. Brawl, GH3, Galaxy, and Resident Evil 4. Dang, looks like I just proved you wrong on everything you tried to guess or bet about me.

That's because Nintendo doesn't have too many games online. Brawl's the only game people are really playing online for the Wii.
