What are some games that makes the best use of motion controls? I could not use the motion controls with NiGHTS. It just totally killed the game for me. I had to use the Game Cube controller. I wished there was an option for all of the games to be able to use traditional controls. That way you could choose what works best for the individual.

I still want to play nights... I almost think I might have it, but might not have played it yet lol.

I feel like I don't really like motion controllers. I feel like they r kinda gimmicky. I mean they r cool for certain aspects and things, but in general I don't want them, plus its kinda hard to snuggle while my husband er I play something if u gotta wave and jerk ur arms all over and if some games don't have stuff set up right trageting things by pointing gets frusterating. Certain things like dancing er pulling blocks out er throwing balls do seenm to be enhanced by this, but most gamers I wish they would make it where u can decide whether er not u want to use a regular controller

Kind of funny seeing this topic again. Nintendo is never going down and I have a strong feeling that 2012 will be their year. The Wii U and 3DS are going to get a ton of first-party games this year. After the word gets out that the Wii U (or whatever it will really be called) is really amazing and not just some Wii 2, the Nintendo haters—or rather, Wii haters—will jump and grab it and realize how great it is.

Nintendo's first party stuff has never let us down.
I also really don't understand why everyone thinks the GameCube didn't do well. I mean, it had 2 of the best Nintendo games and MANY more good first-party games, as well as a ton of third-party games.. (Metroid Prime, TLoZ: The Wind Waker being the two best)

The Wii just had bad third-party support. No one wanted it and everyone thought all the actual Nintendo games were "Waggle this! Waggle that! YAY" when they weren't. And, if I might add, they thought that because that's what all the sucky third-party games were.

Nintendo's dominance will return, because frankly, it never left. They're still the best at what they do, and that is making fun games.

I lost interest in Nintendo after the Cube and DS. They need to drop all the stupid gimmicks, XL's, I's, 3D's, and just get back into making solid hardware and innovative games!

They ARE making innovative games!!!
That's what the Wii was all about. 3DS too. They used the motion controls to INNOVATE, as well as the 3DS's 3DS to INNOVATE.
That is their whole idea. They put gameplay FIRST and try to make it as enjoyable and new, unique, innovative as possible.

*shrug* (Don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to be offensive :P)

See, in my opinion the motion controls, 3D, etc., is just gimmicky. All they did was slap motion controls and 3D on old franchises. Which is cool in it's own right...but it's time for something totally new.

I just bought an N64. I don't know what all the fuss is about lol

On the N64, Ridge Racer 64, Star Fox 64, and Star Wars Racer, to name a few, has some of the best gaming that makes it still worth owning.
love my N64 :)

I understand your point, but at the same time, it's completely possible to make innovate, unique games without motion controls. I think Nintendo was trying to take the easier way out by tacking on motion controls and calling it innovation.

On the DS, introducing a different control method works, because most games actually utilize the touch screen properly.

The 3DS isn't quite there yet, and the Wii will probably never be used to what it's really capable of except with Nintendo first party games.

I'm just not crazy about motion controls. I still feel like they are more limiting than they are beneficial, at least on consoles.
