And yeah, I <3 At the Drive-In and The Mars Volta, that was a big reason i got GHWT.

well if all the instruments are compatible with the rock band instruments that means i will pick up the game at play and trade one day and see if its really that bad

Wouldn't want GH to eat away at Wii Music's profit margin... :lol

Its funny, I lost interest in the GH series once 3 came out and it became entirely about "the challenge." I did expect myself to at least check out GH IV though, thinking that it was doing some really neat things that Rock Band wasn't. But now that it's here, and I can check it out, I really have no desire to. Rock Band sufficiently scratches the itch I have for rhythm games, so even if GH offers more I don't think I need more.

Glad to know the general consensus seems to be an emphatic "meh" by most others.
