Official Halo 3 General Discussion

I got tired of being stuck at 46 in Doubles/SWAT/Lone Wolves/Team Slayer. My account was locked in at 46. I won about 50 games in a row in Doubles at 46, but didn't go up. So I made a new account just to see if I can do better.

And already... my first perfection...

So... beautiful...

What a lot of people don't understand is that the Halo ranking system doesn't work near the same as CoD4's and such. If you're stuck at 46, then that means that you play like a rank 46. I don't know if that makes any sense, but they explain it somewhere on Bungie.net...

I understand that normally, and I'd be fine with that... but winning 50 games in a row in Doubles at 46? I should've at least gone up to something.

Accounts /can/ get stuck. I have a friend who has two 50 accounts, but his one main account is stuck at 47 in Team Slayer and Doubles. We have literally played hundreds of games. He has not gone up, and he has not gone down. The thing about TrueSkill is that it doesn't take into account the ability for a player to grow in skill. If it thinks he's a number, it keeps him there. Forever. And that's my problem. When I made that account I did play like a brig. But now I've grown in skill so it gets annoying when the TrueSkill system says "Nope, you were a 46 when you got there and you will always be there because we don't believe you about your skills improving."

It's stupid. On this new account, though, I'm already a 30 in dubs in just two days so we'll see what happens.

I don't really have too much room to talk about skill and how to increase on the upper levels, cause I'm only a captain grade 2. :lol *embarassed*

Well it would help if I've actually played more than a few matches in the past year as well. (At least Matchmaking ones)

It's weird, cause I have these urges to play Halo 3, but they only last about 5 minutes and then I feel repulsed by the game. I'm really having a hard time trying to play online by myself, as I have maybe 2 friends who bother even playing this anymore.
