We got the chance to preview Halo 3's upcoming Mythic Map Pack and figured we'd whip up a tasty video preview (in high definition, no less). Embedded above is the footage we took from the map pack including a look at Orbital, an Assembly preview and plenty of Forging fun in Sandbox. You may even spot footage of non-shooting recreational activities, like a leisurely game of golf.

The Mythic maps are not currently available, but will be included as part of the Halo Wars CE and will release to the XBLM later this Spring. Also, be on the lookout for our Mythic Map Pack gameplay impressions, coming later today.

Ok so I was playing Halo 3 and checking some of the new Achievements. Am I just trippin or are there some maps that aren't out yet? Is that what it means by Mythic maps and Legendary maps? Is there an upcoming map pack that I don't remember?

When does it come out?
 
All I know, is Mythic Map Pack is the only one coming, it's due in the spring sometime for 800 points(or March 3rd if you bought the LE of Halo Wars, it comes with the code voucher)

Yet seeing achievements to an expansion that isn't even ready yet, is pretty common. They did the same thing with Fallout 3 when Operation Anchorage was preparing for release.

Legendary map pack consist of:

Blackout <-- remake of Halo 2 Map
Avalanche <-- remake of "Sidewinder" map from Halo 1
Ghost Town <-- completely new, yet bears a slight resemblance to the Halo 2 map, "Turf".

Well, maps are out now. They seem to be pretty cool, haven't played them much though. There is so much you can do with sandbox, its nuts. I recommend you all check them out. :)

Freaking a....I got a two week experience ban from Halo 3. :lol My buddy and I got a bunch of guests and did social Team Mythic to get the achievements, and came back the next day to find a ban message. I totally did not know that was against the rules....oh well.
