It's a separate project that Bungie's working on. They announced it to the world a while ago, stating that they started on it before the inevitable Halo 3. Not to be confused with Forerunner coming out BEFORE Halo 3. It'll have Master Chief in it, and will offer 4 player online coop for the main champaign.

Anyways. Show me any article FROM BUNGIE OR MICROSOFT PROVING Forerunner exists. Because it does not! Bungie NEVER announced it to the world, and they HAVE stated that work on Halo 3 began immediately after Halo 2.

It will show Halo 3, Halo 2, Halo Pc/Mac

No Forerunner.

I heared that it was just a April fools joke that Bungie played on everyone. :lol

And the trees in the background on the trailer, i wounder if there realy 3D or just a billboard placed there. :?

Also the MA5B AR is back in the picture woohoo i love that little thing it's so powerful it should have never been taken out. >:(

On another note i've heared that there is going to be a Minigun /Chaingun coming into the picture ;D

Now that would be fun, and it also means that it's there for a reason, and that reason is probably because there is going to be a new enamy thats very strong and hard to take down with a normal rifle or shotgun :o

An April Fool's joke? Where's the proof of this? If it is, then it was a pretty good one. No need for everyone to get their panties all up in a bunch about it though. :lol

I'm gonna start off by saying that I'm not a big Halo fan - i think it is the same as evrey other FPS out there. But I know nothing of no Forerunner and i didnt hear anything about it during E3. And you'd have to be insane to believe there is no Halo 3. Why would Bungie and Microsoft abandon their #1 series? Thats just suicide. Bungie's playing mind games with Sony. THATS IT!!!!

Um...Halo 3 is coming out in 2007. The trailer they showed at E3 states that at the end. It shows the Halo 3 logo and then says "2007"

Game Informer, coincidentally, has no control what-so-ever over Bungie or Microsoft. Show me an OFFICIAL article.

And I'm freaking out because its like arguing with a brick wall!

Seriously man, if you believe in Forerunner, you are beyond help. Maybe Santa Claus will bring it to you next year.

I just hate people who spread info that is false without checking their sources.

Like people who believe the fake Halo 3 menu screenshot.

So basically..I need to call someone..and make sure they have sources..these sources need to know someone from Bungie themselves...that person has to be directly working on the project!

Actually Ithink it'd add more the Halo series if they had a prequel. The actual gameplay could play like ghost recon since in how the book, that is how the groups work. The tutorial could be the Spartan II program training from the book. Is that basically what forerunner was supposed to be cause that's be freaking awesome.

Idk what the basis of the story was....it did have some really good concepts...too bad it was only an April Fool's joke. Some parts seem better than what they actually use in Halo.

The events from The Fall of Reach would be awesome. But, even though the books are canonical (sp?) Bungie seems to be more interested in keeping the books based off of the games and not the other way around. They have even stated they will ignore or alter events in the books as they see fit.


HSP: Would the books make the cut?

JS: The books are, for better or worse, part of the canon. In the future we may choose to revise or flat-out ignore some of the less appealing ideas (Johnson's biological immunity to the Flood, for example), but folks should treat them as defining elements of the Halo universe.

And Strubes, I mean just check around. Check other magazines or websites, or the publisher/developers website. If GI is the only magazine IN THE WORLD that has information on a new game being made by Bungie (in their April issue as well), does it not make you stop and think it isn't true?

Nah, basically just because I only have a Subscription to GI. If I had more, then I would have noticed. I guess I'm ignorant in that respect.
