Hi People,

Just out of curiosity,do any of you put the headphones on and listen to music while you're playing video games?

I put them on when I'm playing a game like "Mario Kart" or "Need For Speed",because these games don't require much attention to play.I also wear them if I'm "Leveling Up" on a RPG for hours on end so I can enjoy my music.It makes "Level Grinding" pass faster I find,especially with a game like "FF7".As we all know,some games you have to spend some time "Leveling Up" to proceed.How about you? 0:)

My stereo is more than adequate for video games. The only time I use headphones is while playing at LAN parties.

Gahh, missed the point. No, I listen to the video game music and SFX when playing.
 
Very very rarely. I think the only games I've done that with recently were Oblivion and Final Fantasy XI.

Most video games have good soundtracks on their own, so I don't need to listen to other music.
 
I used to play video games as a backdrop for listening to music...

Nowadays though, sound has become such an integral part of the game, I enjoy listening to the soundtrack and SFX as much as I do seeing the visuals of the game itself. Occasionally I'll play music along while I play a game, but I usually have the game's volume up as well.

I don't know, it's kind of weird actually. I can't really picture playing CoD4 without the sound. It's like playing half a game.
 
I find lots of games can be much much better with a custom tracks option. Thats part of the reason computer games are better. You can always crank the game sound effects volume, mute the music, and throw on your own tunes in the background. iTunes is usually really gay for sharing audio IRQs so I used FooBar2000 which is a minimalistic audio player that works with nearly every game.

I wish more games on console allowed you to import custom tracks to the game. Any games with 'leveling up' NEED music. Racing games too. However unless your really not into the game you need the sound effects at the same time i find.
