Pilot study...

Hi guys!

Based on the title of this forum, I'm guessing you are all pretty avid game players! At least I'm hoping you are.

I'm a PhD student, and I'm looking to run a pilot study looking at game playing (experience, hours played etc) and narrative etc. I only need a few people to begin with (and I will e-mail you the results), to run a pilot and see if it is a plausible study. If anyone is interested could you mail me a few things about your game profile: your top five favourite games, hours on average a week you play games for, the game you are currently playing (and on average how long you play this per day) as well as your age and gender. If you are willing to participate, I will use this data, and give you a sort of questionnaire - it will be scenarios, and I will want you to write about them - this process should only take about ten/fifteen minutes.

I'd greatly appreciate your help - it will hopefully lead to a a full study - that will earn it's place in journal! (thanks to you!) :)

Thanks for your time.

Just so you know, I think the general policy on this site is that nothing from the site gets published unless you run it by Bluevoodu first, the owner/administrator of the boards. So yes, proceeding with your study via e-mail and not through this site is a good idea.

For my own curiosity, what University/College are you currently attending, and what is the purpose of the study? I might be interested in participating, but I'd like to know a little more about it. Feel free to post up the information related to your study here, so that others who may be interested could also see. You'd be surprised how many people looking to obtain data on this sort of thing we get here, so to sort out the real ones from the poor ones a little more info would help.
